Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can It Fit My Skywatcher EQ5 Mount ?

A: It mounts to a vixen saddle which is what the EQ5 comes with.

Q: 2. Isn’t it possible to sell Celestron PowerSeeker 80mm with an Equatorial mount?

A: Unfortunately they do not make this scope with an EQ mount. The most similar option with an EQ mount would be this version: https://bhpho.to/2qEfmBL

Q: 3. Will this telescope take a 2 diagonal?

A: Yes this scope will fit a 2 Diagonal. It comes with an adapter to accept 1.25 and 2 eyepieces.

Q: 4. What is the closest distance it will range to?

A: For the Magnification it is not really determined like this. It is as far as the eye can see 8X Closer to what you are looking at.

Q: 5. Does it float?

A: It does not float.

Q: 6. Does this kit include a star diagonal or is that included?

A: No, a star diagonal is not included, a non issue with me as I already had two of them.

Q: 7. What planets can you see with this telescope?

A: Mercury Venus, Distinguishable phases Moon, Major craters visible Mars Jupiter Saturn, No rings

Q: 8. Hi, i have a very good video tripod, but the scope will not attach. Do you have a link to a part that will secure this scope to my tripod? I have a pic of tripod if you need it. Thanks.

A: You will need the Farpoint Vixen-to-Losmandy-D Dovetail Adapter BH #FAFVS2D • MFR #FVS2D to make the connection.

Q: 9. For terrestrial viewing if I add an eyepiece view is upside down fixes please?

A: To view images Terrestrially you would need what is called a 45-Degree Erect Diagonal (1.25 ) Size. A nice model you can do is the Celestron 45-Degree Erect Diagonal (1.25 ). This model will work fine with this scope. Website link: http://bhpho.to/1xRq9P5

Q: 10. Can this be used to view a target at 800 yards to verify where the PROJECTILE placement ??

A: The Tasco Spacestation 2.4"/60mm Refractor Telescope would be able to focus on a target 800 yards away. However, the image would be upside down. If you prefer a right side up image, I would recommend a spotting scope such as this Barska: https://bhpho.to/398HPB6

Purchased to be able to obtain an accurate compass reading of far peaks. Works well for this purpose. Happy with the product.

Easy set up. Saw moons of Jupiter and Saturn's rings the first night.

I have the Tasco Space Station 60 X 700 Refractor Telescope & I just assembled it and I am ready to do some far out Astronomy Observing. I love the telescope because it comes with a Red Dot Star Pointer. I adjusted it and its ready for me to use. I also have 2 Diagonals a Celestron Star Diagonal 1 1/4 and the other is a Celestron Erect Image Diagonal which is 1.25 the main reason I got this great Telescope is that I can use other Eyepieces from Meade. This Telescope is a great addition to my Reflector which is a Celestron First Scope both telescopes are fantastic and both are cool to use. People should have both Telescopes. You will see lots of things in the night sky.

Bought for my 6 year old. Great starter telescope. The back pack is a plus.

This telescope is great for beginners. Not too expensive, but you can still see a fair amount of binary stars, and the rings of Saturn were distinguishable from the sphere of the planet. The star finder reticle is a bit tricky to use, but works well when you use the telescope itself to align left/right and the reticle for up/down. The mount is fairly stable, but is shaky when using the 10mm eyepiece and the wind blows. The tri-pod is of sturdy construction though. The assembly is relatively light, and can be easily carried by one person on one trip from the parking lot to the viewing field. B&H had the best price I could find, and here it comes with two eyepieces instead of just one. At the time when I ordered, they had free next day shipping, which was awesome. The red LED flashlight they sent along as a bonus is handy as well.

Bought it for my husband who has been bugging for one. Comparable products sold for over $200, and I found it cheapest on the whole interenet here at B&H.

This is the first Telescope I have ever used and I am very satisfied with it. I couldn't believe when I was able to see Jupiter with the 10mm Eyepiece. For a first time Telescope this is the one you need.

I got this telescope to use MAINLY for terrestrial viewing, not star-gazing. And as long as land viewing conditions are good (no haze, smoke, heat waves, etc.) it works just fine for that. I went with the 90mm Celestron -- AND the AZ model as I didn't need the more complicated mount (equatorial) for LAND viewing -- over the 60mm or 70mm scopes as I wanted more light-gathering ability, but otherwise a 60 or 70 would have worked as well. Of course, it CAN be used as a star telescope and I do use it occasionally as such for looking at the moon. I also ordered the Celestron Astromaster Kit that has extra eyepieces/filters, which I thought was a pretty good value (@ $60) for all you get: I think priced separately, the kit's contents would clearly total more than $60. That pretty much makes the telescope complete, but I MAY get an erecting prism for it also, so I can look straight through the scope as I find that more comfortable/intuitive than sitting to the side of the scope using the 90-degree diagonal. Again, for land viewing vs. star-gazing. And maybe a 25-30mm eyepiece as well (scope came with 10mm & 20mm eyepieces), to use if I want less magnification and more field of view.
