Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this a new old stock camera?

A: This camera is still in production.

Q: 2. if one uses a 35mm prime lens and need to blow up a region in a negative that was the real subject it would have to be done using an enlarger when printing to the print paper?

A: To enlarge a portion of the image, you would need to either use an enlarger in a darkroom or you can use a film scanner, printer and a computer.

Q: 3. How often does the battery for the light meter have to be replaced? Is the battery readily available for purchase?

A: The Leica MP 0.72 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera uses two (2) SR44(76S) 1.55v Silver Battery or one (1) DL76 Lithium battery to power the camera. Depending on the camera's usage, the battery should last between 6 months to a year on average. That being said, as the camera is all mechanical and only the internal light meter is powered by the camera's battery, the camera is still able to be operated without a battery.

Q: 4. What does the meter display in the viewfinder? Does it display the arrows and dot like with the m10 in manual mode? Or does it indicate the aperture, like with the Canon AE systems?

A: It has LEDS (Light Emitting Diodes). Two triangular and one circular LED: • Jointly used as light balance for exposure compensation, • Left triangular LED used as a warning if below the metering range.

A: The Leica MP 0.72 Rangefinder Camera has frame lines for, 35mm, 135mm, 50mm, 75mm 28mm and 90mm. Page 79 in the manual describes this, https://bhpho.to/3IAr0Qy .

Q: 9. Can this be operated without a battery? Aside from the light meter not working...

A: Yes, Leica MP can be operated without batteries for all exposure times, under any weather conditions.

Q: 10. Can this use bluetooth and share to Facebook? :)

A: No. The MP .72 does not have Bluetooth or WiFi capabilities. We do have other M models that have WiFi capabilities but not Bluetooth which can be utilized to connect your smart device to the camera. Those would be the new M10 and M10-P. These models can be connected to your smartphone/tablet for using a multiple of options with our newly designed Leica FOTOS app which will be available on 10.24.18.
