This Starfield DH-2U Dew Heater for 2" aperture eyepieces and 60mm aperture guidescopes helps keep your optic free of condensation. The hook-and-loop-fastening heater strap is 7.9" long and runs on an external, user-supplied 5V power supply via the included 6.6' silicone-covered cable and USB-A plug.

A: I can only verify the recommendations of Celestron. Use the Aluminum Dew Shield on your 6" EdgeHD, RASA, or Schmidt Cassegrain (made after 2006) telescope tube confidently, knowing it was created for your exact instrument.

Q: 5. Does the tilt lock on the left side allow for low friction to aid in smooth tilts? Or it is just for locking the tilt?

A: The tilt lock can be adjusted to increase or decrease friction and aid in tilts.

Q: 6. Does this fit the dovetail type mounts on the Celestron Nexstar 8se?

A: Sorry I do not understand your question. The Celestron Aluminum Dew Shield with Cover Cap (8") BH #CEADSC8 • MFR #94021 is a dew shield. Has nothing to do with the mount.or the dovetail.

Q: 7. Will this fit my Celestron Classic C-8? I purchased this SC telescope 30 years ago and it still performs very well.

I had a cheep eye piece that i bought off of a popular discount web site.and it does not even come close to this GREAT piece. I LOVE the contour and the way it rotates. would highly recomend this product and store.5 stars all the way. 5

I bought the HoodEye for my Canon 30D. This eyecup helps reduce ambient light while looking through the viewfinder. It's actually more comfortable to use than the standard eyecup that comes installed on the camera. As mentioned in previous reviews, it can obstruct a portion of the rear LCD screen. This hasn't been an issue because it's made of soft rubber and can easily be pushed up and out of the way. The eyecup mounts firmly in place and can easily be turned in any direction when switching from landscape to portrait orientation. I have no intentions of removing this from my camera and going back to the factory eyecup. One thing to note is that when my battery grip is installed and I put the body in my camera bag (Tenba Shootout backpack, medium) the eyecup sits higher than the body, but is flexible enough to be pushed down when I zip the bag closed. I would recommend this to friends and would buy this product again. 5

This eyepiece has made it much more comfortable to use my camera, whether I have my glasses on or off. With that said, I no longer need to remove my glasses to compose a photo. I take a lot of nature photo, primarily of birds and I need to be able to frame a photo quickly. This has made a very positive impact for me 5
