The Shure QLXD2/N8S is a digital handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with QLX-D receivers. It comes equipped with a Nexadyne 8/S dynamic supercardioid capsule, featuring an innovative Revonic dual-transducer design that uses two separate, but interdependent sets of diaphragms, voice coils, and magnets. This unique technology gives this dynamic mic a condenser-like clarity with a crisp, yet natural high-end and plenty of detail—allowing vocalists to worry less about mic technique and instead focus on delivering powerful performances. The supercardioid polar pattern delivers tight directionality, high gain before feedback, and enhanced rejection of off-axis sound.

This version of the QLXD2/N8S operates in the G50: 470 to 534 MHz band of the of the UHF spectrum, providing a wide 64 MHz tuning range with 2560 selectable frequencies available to secure a clear transmission channel. It operates for up to 9 hours on two AA batteries, with a transmission range up to 330' and a selectable 1/10mW RF power output.

With a rugged, yet lightweight aluminum housing, the QLXD2/N8S transmitter delivers pristine audio quality and RF performance as well as AES 256-bit encryption for secure transmission and advanced rechargeability options. It is well suited for sound reinforcement applications in medium-sized venues and houses of worship as well as A/V installations in conference, educational, and corporate facilities.

  • Shure's Nexadyne Revonic system is an innovative dynamic microphone design that uses two matched dynamic transducers, working in conjunction, to provide more opportunity for both greater sound quality and the rejection of unwanted signal.
  • Wiring the transducers out-of-phase cancels mechanical vibration, so self-noise is actively zeroed out. This makes traditional pneumatic shockmounts unnecessary, and allows the transducers to be optimized for acoustic performance.
  • Vocal performers will experience natural and vivid clarity when performing—enabled by a cartridge design that optimizes signal output acoustically, producing more of the desired sound source and less environmental and handling noise.
  • Engineers will receive stronger and clearer output, resulting in fewer EQ corrections that are often necessary with other mics to retain vocal clarity within the mix.
  • The supercardioid polar pattern provides tightly focused audio capture centered on the performer in front of the mic, reducing bleed from other sources for a clearer sound with substantially less feedback issues from on-stage monitors.
  • The interchangeable capsule design allows you to replace the Nexadyne 8/S capsule with a Shure capsule that’s ideal for your application and simply screw it onto the transmitter—including the Nexadyne 8/C (cardioid), KSM8, KSM9, SM58, Beta 58A, Beta 87A, and Beta 87C.

  • The QLXD2 transmitter delivers clear, reliable 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio and quickly syncs with a wireless receiver via infrared at the touch of a button.
  • The adjustable input sensitivity on the transmitter accommodates mic levels ranging from booming voices to quiet speech.
  • Frequency and power lockout functions prevent accidental or unauthorized changes during events.
  • A backlit LCD with easy-to-navigate menu and controls lets you quickly access frequency, group, and channel settings, along with mute and lock status, and RF output.
  • 1/10mW selectable RF output power allows you to increase either the transmitter's range or the number of mics operating simultaneously.

  • Operates for up to 9 hours on two AA batteries.
  • Optional Shure SB900A lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack offers intelligent power management with over 10 hours of battery life, precision metering in hours and minutes, and zero memory effect.
  • External charging contacts allow for docked battery charging with the SBC200 dual-docking charger (available separately).
  • The networkable SBC220 charger (available separately) allows for remote power monitoring via Shure’s Wireless Workbench software.

Q: 6. Can I use more than 1 hand held mic at a time, and if so, how many?

A: This Comica Audio CVM-WM100 PLUS-HTX Wireless Cardioid Handheld Transmitter (568 to 591 MHz) is intended for use with the the CVM-WM100 PLUS Wireless Receiver like the one included with the Comica Audio CVM-WM100 PLUS 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H # COMWM100PLUS). We do not have the receiver available separately, but you can use two transmitters with the receiver in the CVM-WM100 PLUS System which can either be the wireless bodypack transmitters that are included with the system or the handheld CVM-WM100 PLUS HTX, or a combination of both.

A: The Sennheiser SR 2050 (A+) transmits on 470 MHz to 558 MHz.

Q: 9. Does the entire set come with a travel or road case that holds everything like the older Shure mics did?

A: The Shure BLX1288/PGA31 Dual-Channel Wireless Combo Headset & Handheld Microphone System (J11: 596 to 616 MHz) package does not come with a travel case.
