Now, the main problem is the touch screen. I think the 5500 has a touch screen so i cannot guarantee that the touch will work.

A: I really Do not know. Plus I am reluctant to use it on the d850. I have a similar device on my D3s and it works. BUT ,,, what I found concerning was slight distortion in certain intense colors in reviewing the D850 photographed results. The D850 is more color sensitive than the D3s. I have trashed pixs rather than downloading them and photoshopping. I could go on, however, scratch protection by glass is a lot more functional than by 'tacky plastic film' and that's a no sh_tter.
