Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this ip67 rated?

A: The Littlite ANSER LED Desk Light with 24" Gooseneck (North American Plug) is intended for indoor use therefore does not have an IP rating.

Q: 2. Where is the light emitted: from the tip of the end in line with the goose neck? Or at right angles to the gooseneck?

A: The light emits from the tip of the light.

Q: 3. Is the base threaded?

A: No

Q: 4. Does this lamp dim from red to white?

A: Yes, the Littlite LW-12-LED Gooseneck Desk Light has a built-in dimmer which would provide smooth transitioning from the low-power red mode into the white mode, allowing you to choose your preferred blend of red and white light depending on your lighting needs.

Q: 5. Will this lamp work without the power supply attached? Does it have a built-in battery?

A: No, the Littlite LW-12-LED Gooseneck Desk Light will not work without the power supply, and it does not have a built-in battery. The light fixture requires AC power from the included 110 VAC power supply.

Q: 6. we are using shure MX418 microphones {4 mics} and when they work they start to do noise instead of amplify the voice. Is there some Batreys in them that need to be changed?

A: These microphones are not battery operated and are very quiet. They do require: Phantom power: (11 to 52v, DC).Re-check all connections and your cabling.

Q: 7. On/off switch?

A: There is not an on/off switch. It would need to either be unplugged or, preferably, muted (or turned all the way down) at the soundboard, for it to not be on. Also, this requires phantom power to operate. But all of those things are very deliberate and appropriate. Generally speaking, no mic in this class of mics anywhere has an on/off switch. Why? Because this mic is much more powerful and sensitive than a standard hand-held mic. And it is designed for picking up singers or instruments that are just out of reach to the mic anyways.. .and the act of a person just touching the mic, in a higher volume application, will easily cause a thumping sound noticeable to the audience. Again, rightly so. This is NOT suppose to have a person's mouth just a an inch or two away. That is not what this mic is for. It is for (a) recording a group of voices/instruments that are a few feet away, not inches away... so it picks up sounds that are further away than a hand held vocal mic will so. To do that, it is much more sensitive and shouldn't be touched during operation. If you have to move it during a performance, then the sound person should mute it at the soundboard during the move, your you'll hear lots of popping and cracking noises. That all being said, this is all the way it is suppose to work... if any of these things were not true, the mic wouldn't be able to accomplish its main missions very well. It does what it was designed to do VERY well at a GREAT price for the excellent quality of mic this is. i've used several of these for years and have been very happy with them.

Q: 8. Would this mic work well for Podcasting, Virtual Meetings, Speech Videos? If not, would you recommend the Shure Sm57 or Sm7b?

A: Yes and Maybe. As a podium mic, which requires 48V phantom power, this mic MAY be a good choice, providing that it is connected to a device providing 48V phantom power, an audio interface or an audio mixer (with USB out) would be required to connect this mic to a computer. Examples include: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1479273-REG/focusrite_scarlett_solo_3g_scarlett_solo_usb_audio.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1251143-REG/shure_mvi_a_ltg_mvi_digital_audio.html/specs The Shure SM57 or SM7B are good choices, though are less sensitive mics, so require very close proximity (3-8") to the subject. These do not require phantom power, but would still require an audio interface to a computer. These 2 mics MAY also benefit greatly by using a Cloudlifter: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1177578-REG/cloud_microphones_cl_1_cloudlifter_mic_activator.html

Q: 9. Does this microphone have a mute button feature?

A: I know this is an older question but you alter how the push button functions, so it comes from the factory as push to mute, but you can alter it to be also be push to talk or push on/off, you just open the base and slide the tiny little switch to the desired setting.

Q: 10. Can I connect it to my laptop?

A: This condenser goose neck mic can be used with a computer with the addition of an audio interface, such as the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation), BH #FOSCARSOLO3G. The audio interface can provide the necessary 48 volt phantom power that the mic requires, as well as convert the analog signal into a digital signal, which then conects via the included USB cable to your computer.
