A: Yes, it tends to rotate if you put something too heavy on the end but you can easily arrange it to be balanced. I rotated the boom so the stud is at about a 30 or 45 degree angle BACKWARDS. So when you put your head on it with a 3x4 softbox and angle the head down, the center weight of the head is over the boom and the boom will not rotate. I've had it setup like this for about 2 years now and haven't had any issues. It really is a great boom fro the price, once you get the center weight set on the stud.

A: I've flown with it just a few times, and it's held up well so far. Really, the only thing that I could see failing the most easily would be the zippers, especially on the corners...they're somewhat exposed. But the bag is so basic that I think it will hold up well, provided it doesn't get tossed too much. But as always, I would recommend padding any equipment you plan on putting in there.

A: We don't have a 420B stand and I haven't looked at what a 420B stand is but this stand is up for abuse. We have loaded it to the max and extended it fully and it holds just about any load we put on it. We work almost exclusively outdoors in any type of weather that exists in the Seattle area and have no problems even submerged in mud and water. We are abusive and it keeps on working. Great asset to have.
