A fast, single flip-lever lock is used to lock all three legs into place.

For greater rigidity with heavier loads, the aluminum tripod legs include a mid-level spreader for support. When removing the spreader, the legs can spread for a height down to 12" for low-angle shots. The StediFast also comes equipped with wide, removable rubber feet that enable you to use the tripod safely on flat or uneven surfaces. When they are removed, you can utilize the spiked feet to keep stability on soft and grippy surfaces. It folds down to 28.3" in length and features a carry handle for easy transport.

However, there is no leveling possible, for it holds the head in just one position. The ikan adapter is more expensive, rests the head and camera about 2 higher. However you can level with it.
