$38.97 $50.66

The black FilterKlear Filter Cleaner from Lenspen is a pocketable pen designed to clean digital camera filters in the most effective and safest manner possible. No harsh solvents or abrasives are employed. On one end of the FilterKlear is the cleaning tip which contains microscopic 'invisible" carbon particles that you cannot see. This carbon can absorb and remove fingerprint oil and smudges from your filter. On the other end of the FilterKlear is a soft retractable brush that can dislodge dust that's on top of a filter.

The protective cap contains a pad filled with the "invisible" carbon so each time you place the cap on the tip, the tip is replenished. The cap contains enough of this extremely fine carbon for at least 500 cleanings.

The FilterKlear will substantially reduce static charge on the filters surface which is important, as electrostatic charge attracts dust and causes it to adhere to glass surfaces. The FilterKlear's usefulness is also unaffected by temperature extremes.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the major difference of this pro kit to the professional kit (twice the price) the package both say invisible carbon? why the price differnce on pro kit vs professional?

A: The formula has been greatly enhanced with carbon on the professional kit. The replenishment caps have been redesigned for longer life as well.

Q: 2. can i use this to clean the back of the glass? if there has been contact/smudge on the inside of the lens?

A: Hi Dianne. If you're referring to the glass on the side of the lens where it attaches to the body of the camera, then yes, that should not be a problem. From my experience, these lens pens work very well. The smallest one will even clean the viewfinder glass. Buy with confidence. Have a great weekend.

Q: 3. When retracted are the bristles sealed or are the tips exposed?

A: The bristles will be retracted completely, but in order to seal them, you need to put the cap on the pen.

Q: 4. If the carbon is invisible then how do you know the sponge contains anything?

A: You can test the lens pen on a white sheet, also the invisible carbon used on these pens' cleaning heads absorbs fingerprint oil and smudges without abrading any of your delicate surfaces. once the replenishment finishes the tip of the pen won't feel as smooth.

Q: 5. Will this kit work on mirrorless cameras and their lenses just the same even though it says for DSLRs?

A: Yes, the Lenspen DSLR Pro Kit can be used on a mirrorless camera too.

Q: 6. When I use the cleaning tip, it seems to drop little piece (the material on the tip) as it touches the lens surface, is this normal?

A: This does happen with lens pens and is normal. Sometimes the bristles will get caught and stuck between surfaces of the lens or filter and get pulled out of the brush. Other cleaning options like a reusable cleaning cloth or disposable lens tissue would not have this issue.

Q: 7. Is the pen for use on filters safe to use on polarized filters?

A: I can't say whether or not it can be used on a polarizer, but there is nothing in the literature accompanying this item that suggests that it should not be used on a polarizer.

Q: 8. Does this clean fingerprint smudges off lenses? How does it compare to wet and dry cloth solutions?

A: Yes.

Q: 9. what are the brush bristles made of?

A: This LensPen brush's bristles are made of lens-safe polymers, while the opposite Cleaning Tip surface is covered with a special Invisible Carbon compound that removes the fingerprint oils.

Q: 10. Why is it that rubbing the lens with the lens pen pad will not cause cleaning marks on the multi coatings on a filter or a lens?

A: These lens pens are dry, so they leave nothing behind to streak. The carbon in them basically absorbs the greases and other gunk. I don't know what shape the microscopic bits of carbon dust are, but if they're spherical I imagine that would greatly reduce the risks of scratching. It's interesting how these were developed. Years ago, someone realized how well newspaper worked when cleaning windows. Whoever that was did some investigating and found that it was the carbon in the ink that made it so effective. With that, the idea for lens pens was born.

Easy, convenient, well designed. Does pool a little of the dust in spots, but easy enough to wipe/blow away.

It has been my choice for several years. Great portability, no grease on it compared with microfiber, i use protective filters on all my lenses, and thats why i choose filterklear over regular lenspen, it has flat surface.

I always loved my classic lens pen and bought this for cleaning my filters. Works great and I now use it as my main way to clean my filters. I would buy again for sure. These are pretty cheap so it is a no brainer.

Works great for filters since the head is flat instead of concave.

I needed something to help clean my lenses during a shoot in an abandoned apartment. Dust was everywhere! This little pen, along with a lens wipe helped tremendously.
