The 4011FGS Cardioid Microphone from DPA features a 120cm boom floor stand and is designed for capturing professional-grade audio. It can be used in venues such as lectures, live stage, studio, public speaking events, and similar applications. The microphone features a cardioid capsule and a frequency range of 20 to 20 kHz. It is powered by 48V of phantom power.

When used for musical instruments, the microphone's capsule is a reference standard for its low-distortion and wide dynamic range. When used for voice scenarios, the 4011FGS microphone sounds natural and provides clear and accurate sound. The cardioid polar pattern also provides a noise rejecting quality for clear and intelligible speech. Additionally, no equalization is needed to remove microphone artifacts. A 120cm floor stand, a microphone clip, and a windscreen are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with plug-in power from these devices: Sony PCM-M10, Zoom H1N, EOS-M3, Canon 5D3 ?

A: The MCSM-4 can operate on 1.5 to 10 volts and will be compatible with most devices that provide plug in power.

Q: 2. Does DPA4560 require phantom power to operate?

A: The DPA4560 requires 5 to 10V Plug-In Power, which is different from 48v Phantom Power. Plug-In Power is typically provided by wireless transmitters, handheld recorders, and some cameras.

Q: 3. Are these good to capture wildlife and nature sounds when paired with a Sony PCM-D10?

A: Yes the Microphone Madness MCSM-4 would be ideal for that kind of application.

Q: 4. Would this be resistant enough if you were recording rain sounds and its being hit by the rain?

A: Yes the DPA4560 is resistant to high levels of humidity and water, but for the best performance you should try to keep it dry if you can.

Q: 5. will this work with the Rode Wireless Go II?

A: Yes. With this adapter: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/390976-REG/DPA_Microphones_DAD6034_DAD6034_MicroDot_to_Locking.html

Q: 6. Would this windscreen be compatible with the 4018b?

A: This should fit the capsule portion of the DPA 4018.

Q: 7. Can it take the weight of a Shure SM7B?

A: Yes, the K&M 25995 will support the weight of the SM7B. If you want to ensure the stand won't move or tip over if bumped accidentally, just put a sandbag or weight on the base.

Q: 8. Is the center column removeable so that the base can be used with other accessories?

A: Yes, the center base tube for the K&M 25995 Floor & Tabletop Microphone Stand can be removed. The boom arm can also be removed if you want to use the base tube as a straight stand.

Q: 9. Does this contain the same removable capsule as the DPA 4018C?

A: This mic has the same 4018 capsule as the 4018C variant.

Q: 10. Is the spec. given here for the diaphragm an error? i.e., 0.05' / 16 mm. Surely 16mm = 0.5'

A: Here us the specification as published by DPA microphones: Capsule Diameter - 16mm (0.6 in).

You couldn't ask for a much better microphone without spending double or triple what this one costs. Before buying I listened to some YouTube condenser microphone tests, try it yourself. I only use it for recording voices but the audio quality is excellent. The only complaint I have is that the built-in mesh pop filter doesn't block P, T, F, B, etc. plosives but I didn't expect it to work as well as a traditional filter, and I certainly didn't choose this mic for that feature. I got the free shock mount in the mail as well and it is very good quality. I'm quite satisfied.

These mics are amazing on just about anything but truly excel as drum over heads (ORTF, Glyn Johns or spaced pair.) They punch well above their weight and compare favorably with many mics over $1000 - Neumann, AKG, etc. Crazy value for money. Get a pair and you won't be disappointed!

This microphone is incredible. I have many more expensive large diaphragm condensers that I haven't touched since buying this from B&H. Also, it looks awesome, and gets plenty of compliments in my studio. It's crazy to be able to compare a $250 microphone to others that cost 10 times more - but you can with the Aston Origin!
