Enhance your growing small to medium business's wireless coverage by adding an HPE Networking Instant On AP21 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Access Point to your network. Featuring two internal omnidirectional antennas, this Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point delivers up to 1500 Mb/s transfer speeds over the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands with up to 1500 square foot coverage.

You can provide power and data to the Instant On AP21 through a single cable by connecting its Gigabit Ethernet uplink port to a PoE+ compatible network device. Supporting up to 50 concurrent users, the wireless signal is secured by WPA2 and WPA3 encryption. You can set the access point on your desk or use the included clip to mount it onto a wall or ceiling. Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) allows multiple Wi-Fi 6 capable clients to be handled simultaneously per channel. This improves efficiency by boosting overall capacity, reducing latency, and improving end-user experience.

Target Wake Time (TWT) is ideal for IoT devices that communicate infrequently. TWT establishes a schedule for when clients need to communicate with an AP. This reduces power consumption and can extend the battery life of clients.

Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) allows the access point to serve multiple compatible clients simultaneously.

Whether you're expanding coverage for more users or adding more space, Smart Mesh makes it simple to extend your network. Build out and connect a network of access points without the need for additional cabling.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the 3 pack come with the PoE injectors? The posted answer seems unclear. They say Yes, but later says its the 5-pack that has no poe injectors. Which is it?

A: Just to clarify for others, I ordered this 3 pack... • Comes as 3 individual regular retail UniFi boxes • Includes the POE adapter in each box • Is the updated model that supports 24V & 802.3af/A

Q: 2. I have one UAP-AC-Lite. I'd like to buy 3 more to create a mesh network, so that users can wander the building, and their devices can switch automatically to the strongest access point using the same SSID/password. I found it challenging to configure just the one access point. Is there some Uqiquiti software or hardware that I coudl buy to make the process of setting up a mesh network easier? It would be easier to configure a consumer-grade mesh network, but I prefer the ceiling mount and POE of the UAP-AC-Lite, and I have the internet cables in place to make it happen. I just don't want to bite off more than I can chew.

A: You can use Intuitive UniFi Controller Software. Install, configure, and manage all of the UniFi APs with the intuitive and user-friendly UniFi controller user interface.

Q: 3. Does the 3 pack come with the PoE injectors?

A: Yes. Also, its not really a 3-pack but just 3 individually-packaged units each in their own box. I think its the 5-pack that has no poe injectors and come as a set.

Q: 4. what is the distance spacing for more than one Access point of this type? Thanks

A: It depends on what it has to go through. 400' line of sight, but drywall, metal, cement, stone, glass etc will all weaken the signal. So it may only work in the room it is in or cover a whole house.

Q: 5. How do you pair the unit to the router?

A: This is done with the UniFI Controller Software.

Q: 6. Does the 5 pack come with POE adapter?

A: No. The 5-pack doesn't include any PoE injectors. Only single access point packages include them.I use Ubiquiti's switches to provide power over Ethernet instead of using injectors.Make sure to choose the right switch. Some APs require non-standard passive 24 Volt power. Not all Ubiquiti support it, last I checked. I think they have an 8-port or a 16-port that does.

Q: 7. I have an existing UniFi access point installed in the ceiling. I know this one has a smaller footprint. Will it leave holes left that need to be filled or will this new unit cover the existing holes from the previous access point?

A: I had to patch a hole when I installed mine after replacing it with the UnFi LR AP

Q: 8. The overview says two Ethernet ports if you feed PoE will it send out PoE on the 2nd port to another AP?

A: From manual: The Secondary port is a Gigabit Ethernet port usedfor bridgingwouldnt be on it

Q: 9. Does the device have 180 degree or 360 degree directional antennas? If I mount this on the top of a 12' freestanding wall (facing upwards) and the wireless clients connected to it are below it will the signal be affected?

A: The signal will be affected, you would want to mount it facing down. The Antenna is not a full 360 and it works best facing in the direction of the wireless clients.

Q: 10. Hi Is this the US version or the international version(with support for all channels)?

A: This is the US version.
