Excellent versatility; images are sharp all the way to 560 mm. Construction seems solid. Only weakness is the lens cover, which is flimsy and unattached.

I find the G12 a very versatile camera. It can perform many functions competently and easily in the hands of an intermediate photographer. It has excellent image quality, yet easily slips into one's coat pocket. The view finder is very practical in many diverse situations. I particularly like being able to switch from automatic to manual mode for particular effects.

focus on a grain of salt or pull in that seagull sitting a quarter of a mile away; pic quality is amazing; colors are vivid; battery lasts for ever; very compact and easy to carry around; numerous easy to access scene selections with preprogrammed settings that allow you to focus on composition rather than fiddling with the settings; inexpensive AA batteries found anywhere provide power; one of the very best band for the buck cameras from a leader in digital camera; AND built in Image Stabilization...........WOW!!

I had a g12,bought another smaller cannon because I was traveling. I missed the features on the g12 and asked my husband to buy the g15 for Christmas. It takes beautiful pictures, sunsets, portraits, scenery. It was a great price with newer cameras coming out. I know my way around the camera ad feel very comfortable with it.

This item is great when you're going on a trip somewhere, like a mountain or any other wilderness where you need to document precious moments quickly and you are limited to a power supply source. AA batteries can be replaced very easily. The weakness that I found in this camera is that you can not attach more than two filters at the time. When you shoot landscape normally they should be three; a UV as adapter, polarizer and some gradient. when I placed all these three filters at the edges of the picture the third one become visible, so to hide it you will have to give some zoom.

I just got this camera and haven't used it a ton yet, but it is awesome in low light and especially in natural light. The flash still takes great pictures...haven't messed around too much with settings, but for an amateur, the auto mode takes excellent pictures. I also love the look of this camera, and its size. It's also nice that there isn't a lens cap to keep track of. So far, love it! Always a fan of Canon. Can't wait to bring it on my upcoming travel adventures!

Having not had much experience with the camera yet so far I am please with my purchase. A little on the heavy side compared to my previous Nikon Coolpix 800 but much more adjustable. I looked at many cameras before I finally decided I wasn't quite ready for a DSLR (cost and size mainly) but wanted more adjust ability than many point and shoots. This and the hotshoe for an add on flash were high selling points for me. I am mainly using it for general photography, mostly outside. I was surprised at the ease of use at moving from the Nikon to the Canon functionality menus and all the buttons seem to be pretty much where I need them other than the occasional bumping of the manual focus button from my fat thumb.

I am a years ago SLR photographer. First time with this type of camera. Currently shooting mainly landscape and wildlife. The camera is easy to use in a semi-manual manner. I very much like the playback feature. Would have appreciated a copy of the manual rather than having to copy off the web as that results in a lot of paper. The enclosed instructions only minimally useful.

Great camera.... just what I was looking for. Great quality, flash, and optimal creative control (shutter speed, exposure, etc). It's also very light weight, thus easy to carry around.. unlike my big dslr. Yay!
