Record improved audio with your USB-C-compatible mobile device using the MIC-01 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System from Hohem. The system includes one clip-on transmitter with a built-in omnidirectional microphone and one dual-channel plug-in receiver with male USB-C connector. Three selectable levels of DSP noise reduction and adjustable gain mitigate negative effects from sudden outdoor noises. The system includes a USB-C charging cable, one furry windscreen, and a storage case.
Simply plug your dual-channel receiver into your compatible mobile device of choice using the built-in male USB-C connector. Adjust the five levels of gain for each transmitter using the receiver's onboard controls. The receiver supports audio playback via phone speaker while plugged in and simultaneous recording and charging of your smartphone via the USB-C port. A 3.5mm headphone port on the receiver also allows you to monitor the audio signal.
An integrated omnidirectional microphone on the transmitter captures crisp audio for your next single-person vlog or livestream. Onboard controls toggle between three levels of DSP noise cancellation to accommodate different environments. Utilize Reverb mode to enhance vocals in music recording applications. The transmitter can capture audio with a 48 kHz /16-bit sampling rate. A TF-card slot allows for onboard recording.
All the components of the MIC-01 system can communicate to one another from up to 328.1' away via line-of-sight 2.4 GHz technology or 65.6' with obstructions.
When the receiver is connected to your compatible smartphone, you can use the transmitter to start/stop recording via onboard control. Simply click once to take a photo or video.
The transmitter and receiver units feature 150mAh batteries with 7.5 hour runtimes. Recharge the components via USB-C port with the included charging cable. Each component recharges in just 1.5 hours.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. The mics and receiver lose their charge while in the case for a few days. Seems crazy. The case is so handy but....How do I avoid this?
A: I do not have that issue and sometimes I do not use my microphones for weeks. Of course, the battery case slowly lose charge, but the the TXs and RX stay at 100% for weeks. You might have a defective unit.
Q: 2. Is the lightning connector fit with iPhone 12 Pro Max with moment case
A: It depends on the design of the case and how much space it provides around the Lightning port to allow the Lightning connector on the wireless receiver from the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro B3 Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System for Lightning iOS Devices. if there is not enough space to allow the receiver to rest flush against the iPhone, then you would need to take the iPhone out of the case in order to properly connect the receiver.
Q: 3. The go pro hero support USB C. Is your microphone powered by battery?
A: The wireless transmitter included with the LAVOKOL B1 Wireless Microphone System for USB Type-C Devices has a built-in rechargeable battery that lasts up to five hours and the wireless receiver has a USB Type-C port for charging pass through which allows it to draw power from the host device that it is connecting to.
Q: 4. I plan on using the Azden SMX-30V on top of my Panasonic s1H so what's the easiest way to also plug in the receiver? Could I attach it to my Atomos Ninja V? Could it just be hooked up to a really cheap storage drive instead of the camera?
A: You have several options for setting things up and recording with all of the mics simultaneously. If you want to record the audio from the SMX-30V and the wireless mics together in the camera, you can use a mini mixer like the Kopul CMX-1-V2 Two-Channel Mini Mixer with Shoe Bracket (B&H # KOCMX1V2). The mixer allows you to connect the mic and wireless receiver to separate inputs and will send one signal with the combined audio of the mics into the camera. A V-bracket like the Vello V-Rig 4.1" Triple Shoe Bracket (B&H # VECB415) can be used to mount the mixer, SMX-30V and wireless receiver on top of the camera. The same setup can connect to the Atomos Ninja V. The mics cannot be connected directly to a storage drive but you can use a digital audio recorder with two or more mic inputs such as the Zoom 4n Pro (B&H # ZOH4NPROBLK) or Tascam DR-40X (B&H # TADR40X) to capture audio on the recorder and if you would like, you can also send a line out from the recorder's headphone jack into the camera's mic input using a level matching cable such as the Sescom LN2MIC-ZOOMH4N - Line to Microphone Attenuation Cable for HDSLR Cameras (B&H # SEL2MZH4N) or Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACH425MON).
Q: 5. Can you detach the lav from the clip? Useful if you want to fit the mic on the left or right side of a jacket
A: Yes, you can remove the clip from the lavalier microphone.
Q: 6. How many ampere should be rated the USB type A charger to charge quickly a Blink 500 TX?
A: 2.1 A will get it done.
Q: 7. Can I purchase 2, have each one connected to separate recording devices (2 smart phones), and use without signal interference?
A: No. Only one LAVOKOL B1 Wireless Microphone System can be used within a range of 164'. However, you can use a different wireless system at the same time while using the LAVOKOL B1. For example, the Ulanzi J12 2-Person Wireless Microphone System with USB-C Connector for Mobile Devices (B&H # UL2883) and the BOYA BY-WM3T2-U1 Digital True-Wireless Microphone System with USB Type-C Connector for Mobile Devices (B&H # BOBYWM3T2U1), as well as many other wireless microphone systems can be used. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like further assistance to select a second wireless microphone system to use for your specific application.
Q: 8. How is the Lav clip build quality? I have another saramonic system and the clips broke after 2 shoots.
A: The lavalier microphones are basic and reliable. The build quality is very good given the price point for the complete package.
Q: 9. I tried this unit indoors within office buildings and at conferences and in both settings the audio would sometimes cut out and be unusable. Has anyone else experienced this? Since the 2.4 ghz spectrum is fairly crowded and there is nothing to configure on these I'm assuming I need to look at a better system.
A: As you mention, the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro B2 2-Person Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System operates on a relatively crowded 2.4GHz spectrum (shared with WiFi) and can be limited in its operation in some frequency-intense scenarios. Bodies in between transmitter and receiver as well as certain building materials are also classic inhibitors to the function of many wireless systems.
Q: 10. My laptop has only USB-A or HDMI ports. Will this unit work with an adapter to one of those ports?
A: The receiver in the Saramonic Blink 500 B5 Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System for USB Type-C Devices cannot be adapted for HDMI connection, but it can be adapted for USB Type-A. An adapter such as the Rocstor USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Female to Type-A Male Adapter (BH #ROY10A207A1) could be used for this purpose: https://bhpho.to/3Kl2On0
