My first copy of this stand arrived just today. My one fear in ordering it was that since the base isn't all that large the stand might tip over if loaded with a heavy microphone at maximum height and extension. Therefore, I tested it quite thoroughly against that problem. With the stand sitting on a hard surface: -floor or table, I could simulate up to about a two-pound mic on it before it moved. That's plenty for our application, besides the fact that we'll probably never have the boom at full extension.
For the price, I think it's a very good buy.
