Capture images on and near the water's surface, or up to 32.8' beneath it, with Ewa-Marine's 3D-M Underwater Housing designed for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W1, W5, or W7 Digital Camera. This enclosure replaces the previous version known as the D-SW. Easy access to all camera controls is provided right through the clear, corrosion-resistant, double-laminated PVC body. The clamping rails, which are also corrosion-resistant, fit together for a waterproof seal and are tightened via two screw knobs.

The housing features an integrated optical glass lens port with a flat front element. An optional Splashix Zoom Extension adapter extends the length of the port by 0.4" to accommodate longer lenses, and still allows you to adjust the length of the port to avoid vignetting when using wide-angle lenses.

An initial supply of silica gel is supplied to absorb moisture. Also included is enough foam padding to fill up any extra space inside the housing in order to prevent the camera from bouncing around. The foam would only be necessary when shooting above the water's surface; beneath it, the water pressure will compress the housing, getting rid of any excess space and providing a snug, secure fit.

Q: 4. Will this work with a lens with a 49mm thread? Do I need to order an adapter?

A: The Ewa-Marine U-FXP Underwater Housing's lens port will accommodate a lens as large as 80mm on the outer diameter. So lenses with a 49mm filter thread will fit. This housing is not designed to use adapters.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Nikon D800 and what is the widest lens you can use? Will a 15mm work?

A: for the D800 i would use the U-BXP100. any lens that has a maximum 82mm filter thread will work. you always want to use the widest lens possible as there will in any underwater photography some vignetting.

Q: 6. Can I use this housing with a canon 5d mkii and a 24-70 lens?

A: The Ewa-Marine U-AZ housing is fine for the Canon 5D mark II but not the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This housing bag is designed for lenses that are 9 long and have a 62mm filter thread or smaller. The Ewa-Marine U-B 100 is a better choice. This bag housing is compatible with lenses that are 3.94 to 7.87 long and have a filter thread of 82mm or smaller. For the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens you will need the Ewa-Marine C-A82 82mm Adapter Ring Set. At first I bought the RX10 M3, then I upgraded to RX10 M4 to be taken to Malaysia to watch Sepang MotoGP. this camera is truly amazing !!! the zoom is very far, the results are very sharp, even without aiming the results are very sharp !!! the auto focus is very fast, when the racer goes very fast it is still caught pretty good. for close-up photos the results are very satisfying too. goodbye camera with a lot of lenses, enough with this all replaced. now I'm waiting for the Sony RX10 M5 oga hopefully Sony will release it soon

Bought this for near future a trip to Africa. The first camera that I have owned that amazes me no matter where I point it - the moon, sunspots and solar eclipses, birds, bees and dragonflies on the wing and still. Wow.

For a wildlife shooter and at times a sports shooter I have not found a camera that has given me the ability to stop a bird in flight. To freeze a surfer on a maneuver that would make you feel that this has one big wow. I have focused on a insect and a jet flying. It gives me surprise after surprise. I have found my camera and after all this time my limits have taken off. I have never entered a Photography contest. It was just for fun. It became more than fun when I am awarded a Judges pick and a First Place. Thank you Sony for the equiptment, And thank you to my wife and son who both said they were proud of their husband and Dad.

I have the MK3, and the MK4 is so much better. Faster burst, more menus, better focus lock, faster focus (when you learn how to set it up). Eats batteries, so have several spares and a charger..

I accidentally purchased the Fantasea, but returned it in exchange for the Ikelite due to limitations of the camera zoom function. The tray for camera mounting and full range for the camera zoom on the Ikelite make for a good underwater housing. Adding a grip give more to hold onto in the water.

I bought this for my African Safari vacation in 2019. I wanted to bring my a99ii because of the sensor power but then thought I had to switch lenses and the extra weight. I was dead set on the a99ii for 6 months but the last month I said I’m going to do the RX10m4 because of the convenience. I’m so glad I did!!! The rx10m4 got so many shots from close (24mm) one second to having to zoom to 300mm+. I wouldn’t have been able to get the shots and video that I got without it. If you’re going on a nature hike, vacation, Safari, etc get this camera. I got a Ewa Marine case for my a99ii and it fit my rx10 and it went shark cage diving. This is the absolute best overall, all in one, do it all camera. I will gladly keep updating when I have to. It’s such a great camera and worth every single penny!!!

I purchased this last month before I several underwater trips. This housing is incredibly well made and is solid. I debated between sea frogs and this product and Ikelites construction is meant for serious usage. The only feature you can’t utilize while underwater is the flash release. I spent about 2 weeks playing with the housing in the pool and on land before I headed on vacation. I recommend you do the same as the controls are there but have a different feel. I also realized it was hard to hold so I added an Ikelite grip and highly recommend it. This allows a good firm grip while Scuba diving or Snorkeling and also provides an attachment point.
