A: This adapter is only for use with Canon EF-S and EF DSLR lenses being attached to Canon's EOS R mirrorless camera mount. There isn't a way to attach an EF-S lens to an EF mount.

A: In reality, Fotodiox (a good company I do like, and I do use many of their products) is actually copying Canon. Canon makes the cameras with RF mounts and dictates the correct mechanical and electronic standards for them. Canon makes the RF lenses, EF lenses and EF-S lenses and dictates the correct mechanical, optical and electronic specifications for them. Fotodiox is riding on Canon's coat tails, and is only able to manufacture adapters thate are possibly "Canon comatible" because Canon allows it.

A: This comes with what Genustech calls a wide angle rayshade. This is the top sunshade you see in the picture. In the pro movie production world, a French Flag is a flag on an articulated arm. In the retail world, I find manufacturer's and dealers often misuse the term.

A: According to Sigma, the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R will work with the Sigma 8-16mm lens but the camera’s “Scene Intelligent Auto mode” cannot be used. Also the 8-16mm is a crop sensor lens so the camera would need to be a crop sensor model such as the R10,m R50, R7, or if you are using a full frame, the camera would need to be set to crop mode.
