This heavy-duty camera head measures only 5.3", perfect for operating heavy cinema rigs low to the ground. Each of the 3 legs measures 8.3" in length, and each features an M12 tie-down screw for a separately available board.

The head features pan and tilt movements with locking knobs, and there are rosettes on either side to mount the included adjustable pan handle. A standard ARRI-style dovetail can mount onto the quick release receiver on top, and two bubble levels keep your rig level with the horizon.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this camera have a locking bulb function?

A: You can use this with a cable that has a lock for long exposures. You will need to count out the time and then release.

Q: 2. How low will this allow a soft box to go? I need something to hold my soft box down low on the ground for newborn photography.

A: This stand probably will not work for that. The pin is about 34 at it's lowest. Take a look at the sliding arm stand. Manfrotto 231 Column Stand with Sliding Arm I have two of them with an extra arm each to hold two lights and they will allow you to put your soft box right down on the floor or up to 8'

Q: 3. Is this stand sturdy enough to safely accommodate the Westcott Apollo 50 with the Einstein Strobe? I will be using it primarily for newborn photography and I like that it's low enough to get the Apollo to the floor but it still rolls.

A: This is a very sturdy stand which can support a large amount of weight, However with a large softbox you're definitely creating a high center of gravity, I recommend at least 1 pumpkin weight (linked below) usual used on booms, however they clamp easily to the leg of this stand and don't negatively effect mobility as a sandbag would.

Q: 4. Can I add another section to this and make it taller?

A: The Avenger Junior Roller Low Boy Stand with Combo Head (Chrome/Black, 4') BH #AVA5012 can be used with Junior pin column extensions.

Q: 5. For those using this as a tethering stand, what adapter are you using to mount your case/table?

A: To answer my own question (for others that might be wondering), I ended up buying the Manfrotto 1 1/8 (28mm) Male Adapter . With a couple modifications (two 3/8 nuts and a wide washer) I was able to mount my SKB laptop case perfectly!

Q: 6. Will this fit the Manfrotto 290 xtra aluminum tripod? The center columns on the 290 and 190 appear the same but no one will let me try the fit. Have queried Manfrotto and they responded that there was not a short center column for the 290 planned.

A: The center column on the 290 series and the 190 are the same diameter, so this will fit the 290 Xtra. Since the hole in the center of the 290 Xtra is angled, it would be a good idea to use the rubber gasket from the existing center column when mounting with this smaller piece. I just tried it and it works.

Q: 7. Isn't this part already attached to the bottom of the center column when you purchase the MT190X3 tripod? In instruction book

A: The Manfrotto 190XLAA Low Angle Adapter for the MT190X3 Tripod, is intended separately as a replacement or spare for the MT190X3 tripod.

Q: 8. What is the maximum collapsed diameter?

A: At the base its about 6" in diameter. At the wheels its about 12" in diameter.

Q: 9. will this fit a 055CXPRO3?

A: No, the Manfrotto 190XLAA Low Angle Adapter for the MT190X3 Tripod will not fit into the Manfrotto MT055CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod, it's a smaller size.

Q: 10. Will this fit an intrepid 4x5 camera?

A: No, the FotodioX Pro Right Angle Viewfinder for Toyo 4 x 5 Camera is not compatible on the Intrepid 4x5 camera.
