A: The riser block is cut with a dovetail on the bottom intended to slide into the Movecam baseplate. However, the riser block is also drilled and tapped on the bottom for one centered 3/8 hole and four additional 1/4 holes. So, I'd say it's possible to mount the riser on a standard baseplate.

A: Don't know the exact size without some research. It takes a 3mm hex key and is probably a metric size like the rest of the screws on the cage, only larger. Its tapped hole would not take a standard looped tripod screw since it's a bit smaller than a 1/4 tripod screw. The riser screw drops into a 1/4-20 tripod threaded hole.

Q: 10. Is there an alternative to this that I can use to update the firmware in my Tamron 28-75 G2 andnmy 70-180 G2?

A: It looks like the Tamron CC-350 USB-C Lens Utility Connection Cable (4.9') is just a USB 2.0 cable with USB-C jacks. B&H # PEUSB5CMCM6 should be a suitable replacement.
