The Ruggard portable hard drive case protects external hard drives, especially when traveling. The hard shell case protects the drive and has a small amount of extra room for carrying a USB cable. 5

This Ruggard case is inexpensive yet ruggedly well-made. I've bought many of these over the years to safely protect my gear. While they're designed to fit shirt-pocket hard drives, I quickly found they work great with many of my power banks and small LED light panels like Lume Cube's Panel Mini and the BIGSOFTI ONE with its accessories. I highly recommend this case for its wide variety of uses. 5

One question that must be asked before placing an order for one of these is whether it's really needed for a LaCie ruggedized hard drive. I ordered mine from a list of recommended accessories, then had to wonder whether my new drive would actually fit in it. Turns out a LaCie Rugged Mini USB 3.0 drive fits in this case as if it was made by LaCie, but that's not all. In addition to an elastic strap to keep your treasured data trove from falling out when it's unzipped, there's an elasticized net pocket on the other side, making possible a variety of uses limited only by your imagination. And it's remarkably well-made. 5

I purchased this protective case for my new Samsung 1TB SSD that I also bought from B&H. I am blown away at how well made it is, and how perfect it is for storing both the SSD and extra camera memory cards which I use for photo editing on my MacBook Pro. If you are purchasing a portable SSD, you definitely need to consider adding this valuable accessory. You will be glad you did! 5
