It is designed to allow you to connect the Lume Cube 1500 Lumen Light onto a camera's standard hot shoe. If you are instead inquiring about the Lume Cube 1500 Lumen Light, while the unit may be used as a strobe, it does not have automatic TTL capability.

A: Yes, the plate is removable on mine. There is an recessed Allen head screw in the mount plate. But if you want to use another companies proprietary plate I'd suggest you just buy a whole head from them. The mount plate for that would have to bolt on the same way. Personally I like the universal aspect of the Acra-Swiss system. I've converted all my tripods and mono-pods to that. 1 plate to rule them all!
