Featuring a new and updated design, the Canon RF-mount 28mm f/13 360° Macro Probe Lens from AstrHori provides a 360° rotating base, a direct view lens tube, and a 90° tube for multiple perspectives. Designed to reveal beautiful details hidden in tight spaces, this unique lens features a 2:1 magnification ratio and a 90° waterproof probe extension with front-end illumination to bring the unseen world to light. The 2x magnification capability enables detailed close-ups, while the extension's slender 1.2" diameter makes it ideal for fitting through slim openings and into small spaces. The optical structure consists of 21 elements in 16 groups and features an aperture range of f/13 to f/40. Taken all together, the wide-angle macro provides a broad depth of field that brings both the subject and its surroundings into focus for environmentally rich imagery.

The lens's durable and protective front element is crafted from sapphire glass, known for its hardness and resistance to wear and scratches. Additionally, the front-end fill light is powered through a USB-C interface and comes with a charging cable.

This lens is great value at its price point. Compared to an early Canon FD lens in macro mode it shows better contrast and a more neutral colour. Combined with the EOS R body it makes a compact walk around camera set up. 5

Im a huge fan of good affordable primes due to the value they deliver, and judging by the amount of time this one has spent on my R since I bought it, I have to say its my current favorite. It is just so, so versatile, and the image quality is excellent. The 35mm focal length is great for a variety of uses, f/1.8 and IS make it a champ in low light, its fun to use as a macro (even though you have to get really close to the subject), and the STM and IS combo make it great for video. Its the exact lens Ive been waiting for Canon to make. Highly recommended. 5

Wasn’t sure about this lens, based on low retail cost. Now having put it through some tests, I like it. Excellent rendering, fast focus, light weight. I can only hope Canon will produce more lenses of this caliber. 5

I am finding that I actually prefer this over my RF 28-70 for two reasons: size and image stabilization. Canon needs to come out with the pro body with IS already. 5
