Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the diameter of the threaded hole in stand?

A: The thread size at the top of the mic stand shaft (where you would attach the mic) is 5/8"-27. The thread size on the round weighted stand base should be 7/8"-27.

Q: 2. Will this work being plugged directly into Roland r-26 recorder without further power?

A: The Roland R-26 recorder will supply the required Phantom Power needed for this microphone.

Q: 3. Will this boom fit to my MS series Atlas stand ? (Large tubing with 7/8 fitting)

A: The LATCH LAKE RB2200AT boom is not compatible with Atlas Sound MS series stands given the stands are 5/8 -27 male, and the RB2200AT is 7/8 -27 Threads.

Q: 4. This is listed as an accessory for the SX700... does it fit that camera?

A: I don't know about the SX700 camera. My PSC-3300 case accommodates my SX170 camera nicely, snug fit of course, but works great for carrying the SX170 on my belt. Should also work with SX160. Will only fit the camera, no extras. If the SX700's dimensions are NO LARGER than the SX170 it would work fine.

Q: 5. Will the Canon SX170 camera fit in this PSC-3300 Case or would the Canon PSC - 3200 be a better choice?

A: The PSC-3300 will be the best fit for a Canon SX170.

Q: 6. Will it fit the Canon G9X and does it come in brown as opposed to black? Or are there any brown leather cases made specifically for this camera?

A: This case will fit the G9X, however the PSC-3300 is available only in black. Unfortunately, there are no cases currently in brown leather made for the G9X.

Q: 7. I have a Canon G7X with the leather case that is designed for it however I prefer a vertical drop in case (as this one) instead of the horizontal drop in. Will they case fit the G7X?

A: This case will be too small for the G7 X, unfortunately.

Q: 8. Would this case be good for the Canon SX150?

A: Yes it would.

Q: 9. Will this case fit the new Canon G7X mark ii? I like the vertical drop feature.

A: Yes, the Canon PSC-3300 Deluxe Soft Case would be compatible for use with the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera. It would be a snug fit, but it is compatible for use with the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera.

Q: 10. How wide is are the tripod legs when extended? (i.e., how much floor space does this take up?)

A: According to Latch Lake web page: Tripod Base Our patent pending Symmetric Torque Tripod base features all new folding solid core legs giving you the distinctive stability all micKings are known for with a portable touch. This base enables a breakdown size of just under three feet. That's all I could find, you may want to call them: Latch Lake phone #: 1-800-428-2437

All whining aside, THESE DO THE JOB. The stock items on most mic stands DON’T and simply pale in comparison. Due to thickness and diameter, these can be gripped and tightened / loosened by hand much more effectively than the “lesser” substitutes. I have tooled up to replace almost all of my stock mic stand jam nuts with these. At first, it hurt the wallet a bit. Now, that cost has been more than paid in increased serenity.

Along the way, I developed an axiom: “Friends don’t let friends use $#!++y mic stands”. I’ve amended that to include $#!++y jam nuts.
