A: While I do not quite understand the question due to the way it is worded, when using the Canon Extender RF 2x, the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM Lens can only be operated within the 300-500mm focal length range. Before attaching the 2x Extender, use the lens' zoom ring to set the focusing distance between 300mm and 500mm, then attach the extender to the lens. The lens may then be attached to the camera. Attaching the extender forcibly with the focusing distance set between 100mm to 300mm may result in malfunctions or other damage.
