Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is it possible to fit a Nikon Z 600mm f6.3 lens and still have space for Nikon Z 400mm f4.5 lens?

A: The Nikon NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S Lens (Nikon Z) and the Nikon NIKKOR Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S Lens will not fit in the Tenba Solstice V2 Sling Bag (Gray, 16L) at the same time.

Q: 2. What are the differences between this V2 and the original Solstice 20L?

A: The Tenba Solstice V2 Backpack (Black, 20L) was designed with water resistant material and has a 14'' laptop compartment while the Tenba Solstice 20L Camera Backpack (Black) has a weather resistant material and a 10'' iPad or smart device compartment. The internal dimensions are slightly different; the Tenba Solstice V2 Backpack (Black, 20L) internal dimensions are 16 x 10 x 4.5” while the Tenba Solstice 20L Camera Backpack (Black) internal dimensions are 18.5 x 9.5 x 6.5”.

Q: 3. Does the 7L has the waist strap like the 10L? Intend to use this on the bike and waist strap is crucial to keep it steady.

A: Smaller bags like this generally do not have a waist strap--this one doesn't have one.

Q: 4. Would the 7L fit an R5 with RF 100-500 attached?

A: Yes Tenba Solstice Sling Bag (7L, Black) is compatible with Canon R5 with RF 100-500 attached.

Q: 5. Based on measurements the V2 bag has 37% less volume than the V1 bag but still labelled as 20L - is this correct?

A: The Tenba Solstice V2 Backpack (Gray, 20L) measurements include the generously proportioned front compartment, which adds an additional 300 cu/in to the pack’s capacity beyond the ~800cu/in of the main ICU compartment. Since this Solstice V2 backpack is a direct replacement for the prior 20L Solstice backpack, which carried an equivalent amount of gear, Tenba kept the volume nomenclature as previously listed in order to indicate which new size would most closely replace the older solstice pack. Considering the additional capacity of the oversized external side-pockets and modular gear-attachment straps (two included with each pack and repositionable on the pack to hold additional gear), this seemed like a relevant comparison for this year’s model.

Q: 6. Is this bag ambidextrous or is it left shoulder only?

A: No, the Tenba Solstice Sling Bag (7L, Blue), B&H # TES7LSBBL, is not an ambidextrous case. It is designed for left-shoulder usage only. If you are looking for a case that can be used on both the right and left shoulder, the Think Tank Photo Urban Access 8 Sling Bag (Black), B&H # THUAS8, or the slightly larger Think Tank Photo Urban Access 10 Sling Bag (Black), B&H # THUAS10

Q: 7. Please advise if the 7L fits a Nikon Z8 with 24-70 lens attached?

A: The Nikon Z8 has height of 4.7" and the height of the Tenba Solstice Sling Bag (7L, Black) is 4.5" so the camera will not fit in the backpack with the 24-70 lens attached.

Q: 8. Will this bag hold a Canon 6D with 70-200 f/4L lens attached? Hood deployed or reversed?

A: Yes. The following unit will accommodate you lens and cam combo and also provide some extra space for accessories .

Q: 9. Will Nikon Z8 with attached 600mm f6.3 S fit and also have space for Nikon 20mm f1.8 S?

A: For that combination, instead of the Tenba Solstice V2 Sling Bag (Gray, 12L), we recommend the Tenba Solstice V2 Sling Bag (Gray, 16L), B&H # TESV216LSBGY.

Q: 10. Does anyone know what those small strap/loops on the back of the slingbag are for? Do they serve any purpose?

A: They are mostly decorative, but can be used to attach extras like a rain jacket or a cap so that you don't have to carry them in your hands. You will need some small attachment ties or something similar to do that.

Best bag I ever bought

This is a high quality bag, very well designed and built. The space is very limited, but it works fine for the purpose. Compact, unflashy look (messenger bag), and nicely padded. Perfect to take your camera for a spin without become a target, specially when I'm traveling. In these occasions I always take my regular camera backpack with all lenses, filters, accessories, etc, and also the Passport Sling, so even I don't have all the equipment when I'm out exploring the city, I have a chance to get those when I get back to the hotel. Confort wise, even carrying just a camera body and a couple of lenses (which is half of my regular camera bag weights) I found my lower back kind of sore after a few hours wearing it. You may not experience it if using a not so heavy lenses. I also found it could be nice some of the external pockets have zippers, not so useful open wide. After all said, it was definitely a nice addition to my camera bag collection.

When a product looks that it can be very attractive, very helpful, very good, so this bag was not that she is much more than that. Meets all my expectations and more, I think I should buy more of these .....

This isnt going to hold all your gear, but it will hold all the gear you want to take along for a walk or day out or the vast majority of trips where you want your camera.
The straps are directional so it sit very comfortably on your shoulder.
The only this Id like to see added would be a strap for a tripod, but that may be a bit much for this size of bag.
A bargain at twice the price.

Yes, yes, the bag isn't huge or designed to hold a lot of gear. However, it's the perfect bag for a casual photographer with a Digital SLR (I have a Canon Rebel) who's on the go and wants to keep their camera and personal items in one inconspicuous bag. Love that it opens from the top, so you can just reach in, grab your camera, shoot, and replace with no hassle. There's not a lot of storage place for personal items, but more than enough for cell phone, wallet, Lonely Planet Guide, Kindle, and a few other miscellaneous things. Love that it has space for a water bottle-- great feature. A serious photographer who changes lenses, etc. will undoubtedly find this bag limited. But if you're like me, and just want to take your camera with you to the park or on vacation, this bag can't be beat! Sturdy, comfortable, and well designed at a great price!

I purchased this bag to use with my nikon dslr. I don't really have anything negative to say about the bag other than it's a little stiff, but seems like it'll soften up after some use. It seems to be made extremely well & has quite a bit of room for extras. I would definately recommend it if you are looking for a camera bag that doesn't exactly look like a camera bag.
