Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How fast is the auto focus on this lens? I d use it with a Canon T6i (70d)

A: It's very fast, unless I'm doing close-up work, then it might hesitate a bit. Overall, I've been very pleased with this lense!

Q: 2. Where is this lens made?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is Taiwan. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

Q: 3. is it compatible with 40D canon?

A: I have a Canon Xsi. I am very please with the EF -S 18-200mm lens. Very often, two less lens to manage.

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with EOS 1100D?

A: Yes. The camera has an APS-C size sensor that the EF-S series of lenses is designed for.

Q: 5. Will this lens work with the canon T4i?

A: Yes. It works very well. Great lens for travel. Covers wide angle to telephoto needs.

Q: 6. Does it works with Canon 5D Mark II?

A: The Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Autofocus Lens is an EF-S lens and is NOT compatible with the full frame Canon 5D Mark II camera. The Canon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 will be compatible with all Canon digital SLR cameras with an APS-C sized sensor. Only EF lenses will be compatible with the Canon 5D Mark II's full frame sensor. For a general purpose lens for the full frame body you may want to look at the Canon 24-105mm f/4 lens as an option which can be found here http://bhpho.to/45J1fP

Q: 7. Is this an internal focusing lens?

A: Yes this lens will internally focus.

Q: 8. A: The main difference between the Canon 28-135mm lens and the Canon 18-200mm lens is the fact the 18-200mm lens would be wider on the Canon EOS 50D.You answered this question already, but you use the word wider what do you mean?I have a 30D, would this 18-200IS lens fit? Thanks

A: The term wider simply refers to the focal length (i.e., 18mm is a wider angle of view than 28mm). This lens will fit the Canon 30D.

Q: 9. I already have Canon 28-135 with my EOS 50D that I bought from B& H. What important feature do I get if I buy the 18-200? Also, how safe is it to buy the refurbished versus new?

A: The main difference between the Canon 28-135mm lens and the Canon 18-200mm lens is the fact the 18-200mm lens would be wider on the Canon EOS 50D and would work better as an all-around lens compared to the 28-300mm lens, which was more-so designed for usage on Canon full-frame or film SLR cameras. Concerning refurbished cameras, the main difference between the two would be the warranty. Refurbished cameras are cameras that have been sent back to the manufacturer, inspected, and brought back to initial factory specifications. However, as they are not new, Canon does not include the full 1-Year warranty. While I have no issue with purchasing refurbished equipment (especially as I can test the equipment and ensure it is working using our standard 30-Day Return Policy), it would be up to your personal comfort level as to if you need a full warranty or if the refurbished warranty is okay for your usage needs.

Q: 10. Is this lens compatible with a 1,4 converter?

A: The Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS will not be compatible with a teleconverter. It is advised not to use teleconverters with lenses with a wider focal length than 70mm.

I am just starting to learn to do photography and I travel a lot with my kids. I need some good quality lens that can zoom and so I do not have to change to different lens each time. This lens fit my need and the pictures I took on my recent France trip were very good!

CANON's newly released EF-S 18-200mm f3.5/5.6 IS Autofocus Lens is letting me shoot most of my pictures using only one lens. The lens has Canon quality, and does a good job in low light conditions. The image stabilization works well, but it doesn't have a two stage IS system like my 70-300mm Ultrasonic lens. Pictures come out sharp and in focus. Although a but more bulky and heavier than some lenses. this lens allows a greater flexibility for zooming in and out, and basically eliminates the need to change lenses. The lens doesn't rotate when zooming or focusing so it's a good choice for use with a polarizing filter. I use the lens with a Canon Rebel EOS T2i, and i would recommend buying a camera without the standard 18-50 lens and just buy this lens.

Very smooth and quiet operation. Great all-in-one lens for sports, wildlife, scenics, and macros. Considered Tamron similar models but they were not near as sturdy or smooth. Great lens for travel or hiking when you do not want to change lenses. Used recently on a Rocky Mountain trip and all pictures were very sharp. The IS saved many pictures. I have never been let down by Canon quality. Only gripes: price and the fact that the lens hood is not included in the price.

This is the lens that's always on my camera, especially when travelling. You get from wide to medium telephoto without changing lenses, which can be a real bonus in windy or dusty locations. It's also much better than I'd expected for close-up photos, such as of flowers. The image stabilisation works very well, too: I've hand-held down to 1/2 second.

When I received my Canon 18-200mm Lens I couldn't wait to try it out and I have to say that I'm very PLEASED. I took a few shots in a shaded area with my flash off and the pictures came out GREAT.

I'm expecting a baby and I'm just preparing myself for lots of indoor, family gathering images and of course, candid in the near future. This is a super great lens for the purpose and I was amazed how fast it is. For what it's worth, it's a great lens.
