I have tried several off brands and they do work OK. The off brands, at least some of them, do not work with Canon chargers. Also, they do not hold their charge as long as the OME when they get older. I always have two of these OEM when I am doing some important shooting. ALL batteries need to be replaced eventually. These batteries last longer. Some of the off brands must change their dimension over time since they are hard to squeeze into the battery slot! 5

Keeps a good charge. Bought this as a backup battery. I do astrophotography as a hobby so some of the video/shots may involve many minutes. Having two helps me to avoid blackouts. 5
