Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are these camera brand agnostic? Planning on using these on my Sony A7II and my Broncolor Strobe Power Packs. That being the case can these also work with Large Format Cameras with PC sync cords to trigger my Broncolors too?

A: The Plus X transceiver works with just about every camera that has a hot shoe directly. For large format cameras, you can connect the Plus X unit to the sync terminal on your lens with the included cable.

Q: 2. Will these work with portable strobes (norman 200c, quantum turbo) that are not ac powered?

A: The PocketWizard Plus X Transceiver Radio Remotes are compatible for use with all industry standard hot shoes, PC sync terminals, 1/4 phone, 1/8 (3.5mm) miniphone, 2.5mm sub-miniphone, household plug, etc. camera/flash connectors. It also uses safe 3 volts sync voltage for modern digital camera systems, and can handle up to 300 volts. As both the Norman 200C and Quantum standard QFlashes both use household sync terminals, the PocketWizard MH1 Miniphone to Household Cable - Straight - 16 (40.6 cm), B&H # WICHHM16, would be the correct cable compatible for use with the Norman 200C and Quantum QFlash T5D-r or X5D-r flashes.

Q: 3. olympus one

A: The PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack BH #POPWPX2P is manual and fires from a center pin. Any camera with a centerpin hot shoe can use it.

Q: 4. will these work with the Nikon Z8?

A: Yes, the PocketWizard PlusX is compatible with the Nikon Z8.

Q: 5. I have a new 6D and a 430EXII and am looking to switch to radio flash triggers. I want one which will allow me to use the in-camera flash controls. Is this part of the TTL function as far as communication between the flash and camera? Which units would be compatible with my needs? Also, what do I need to connect the receiver to the flash?

A: The in camera flash controls for your 6D will only work with your 430EX2 when it attached to your camera or off-camera with optical triggering. If you'd like your flash to be off camera, triggered with a radio system, and still have control over the power of the flash, you'll need a system that has the ability to control the flash power from the radio transmitter. One such option are the Radio Poppers (#RAJR2T for the transmitter and #RAJR2RN for the receiver)

Q: 6. Would these work on Leica SL-2S to trigger an Elinchrom Five?

A: Yes, the PocketWizard Plus X 2 Pack would work on the Leica SL2-S Mirrorless Camera and would trigger an Elinchrom FIVE Monolight Kit.

Q: 7. Do you have CE version instead of FCC in stock? thanks!

A: Unfortunately not. The only PocketWizard units sold in the USA are of the North American (FCC) frequencies.

Q: 8. Will these work with Profoto A10?

A: The Pocketwizard Plus X is not compatible with the A10 radio system.

Q: 9. Can you use these with the Canon 7d and the Canon Mark 5d ii?

A: Yes, the PocketWizard Plus X Transceiver can be used both as a flash trigger and a camera trigger (with appropriate sync cable) with both the Canon EOS 7D and Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR cameras.

Q: 10. Can you transmit from the camera (with out using the hot shoe) to two off camera flashes? I want to put an on-camera flash on and have the option to use it or not to use it yet have the other two off-camera flashes trigger.

A: As long as your camera has a PC sync port, you could hook up the Plus X to your camera with the included PC cable instead of using Plus X on the hot shoe. If your camera doesnt have a PC sync port, you would need to purchase a hot shoe adapter with a PC connection.
