Designed for full-frame camera sensors, the Laowa Argus FF 28mm T1 Cine Lens from Venus Optics features a Nikon Z lens mount and a wide T1 to T16 aperture range for improved low-light shooting. Create a shallow depth of field and dreamy bokeh with the 15-blade iris and lens construction of 14 elements in 9 groups. The focus ring rotates 211°, and the iris ring 92° for intuitive manual adjustments with low focus breathing.

The lens features a 75.2° angle of view to ensure your subject remains in the frame. An 80mm outer diameter and M77 filter thread are consistent across the lens series and allow you to incorporate different matte boxes or filters. Cine-standard gearing on the lens, adjustment shims, and a removable lens support thread make up the cine housing of the lens.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Laowa makes a custom filter holder for this lens. Can I purchase it at B &H?

A: Sorry , we don't sell it

Q: 2. Has anyone use Laowa 14mm F/4 for InfraRed photography? Does it has a hotspot that makes it unusable?

A: To our knowledge, the Laowa 14mm f/4 FF RL Lens for Nikon Z has not been tested with an infrared-converted Nikon Z mount camera.

Q: 3. Does this have hard focus stops?

A: The focus is smooth but it does have Selectable Clicked / De-Clicked Aperture. Photographers might prefer the clicked aperture ring while de-clicked would be better for video.

Q: 4. APS-C or FF? (Does" CF" mean "Cropped Frame, like with Tokina?)

A: Venus Optics Argus 25mm F/0.95 CF APO Lens for Canon RF BH #VE2595RF • MFR #VE2595RF is a APS-C lens and CF means close focus as the lens has a minimum focus distance of 34 cm.

Q: 5. Does this lens have electrical contacts to communicate the settings to the camera?

A: Unfortunately, the Venus Optics Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 FF Lens (Nikon Z) does not have any electrical contacts.

Q: 6. Does the focus peaking work on Canon cameras?

A: Yes, Venus Optics Laowa Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF Lens for Canon R will support focus peaking on all Canon RF cameras.

Q: 7. Is the Nikon Z7 compatible with this manual focus lens? Besides no image stabilization, are other capabilities lost?

A: As the Venus Optics Laowa Argus FF 28mm T1 Cine Lens (Nikon Z) is a fully manual lens, aperture and focus would need to be controlled manually as well. You may also lose any focus confirmation features built into the camera itself.

Q: 8. is the aperture ring clickable, can the aperture be adjusted by clicking the markings on the aperture ring?

A: With the Venus Optics Laowa 14mm f/4 FF RL Lens there is a slight click at each stop on the lens.

Q: 9. Is the Laowa Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF hood removable?

A: Yes, the lens hood included with the Venus Optics Laowa Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF Lens for Sony E-Mount is removable.

Q: 10. Will it work on a M43 camera with my Metabones 0.71?

A: No, the Venus Optics Laowa Argus 25mm f/0.95 CF APO Lens is an EF-M lens, not a EF lens. You will not be able to mount it on the Metabones speed booster for EF lens.

Purchased to explore macro photography. Happy with quality and results so far. Accidentally discovered that with 100 to 400 lens, they can be used for more than just closeup. I was able to take pictures of items about 15 feet away. The focal range is really small, but images are sharp.

I specifically bought these to use on my Olympus 75mm f1.8 lens for close ups of flowers and mushrooms. The bokeh of the 75 is very nice, and the extension tubes allow are just what I needed to move in enough to take advantage of that. They are very well made, and the quality is excellent. A solid piece of gear that works well.

I bought these after having focus and exposure problems with a manual equivalent. Well worth the extra cost. Well made, durable construction.

After trying out the Nikon extension tubes, I was left wanting more out of the setup - metering, i-TTL wireless flash support and compatibility with my G lenses. Enter the Kenko extension tubes that fit the bill perfectly. Granted, they are not as mechanically solid as the Nikon counterparts (plastic vs. metal), but hold up fine when I mount my Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 AF lens on them. There is some roughness when mounting a lens onto them, but to the best of my knowledge that roughness is the tension in the spring in the extension tube itself rather than any grinding on the lens mount that could cause potential wear. With my Tamron 90mm macro (and all other AF lenses), these tubes function flawlessly with my SB-900 in wireless mode, other than giving me the functions of AF and metering. The autofocusing is a welcome addition - I know that autofocus is not the suggested modus operandi for macro photography, but there are times when I do not want to go through the hassle of focusing manually on subjects such as flowers (try setting up a tripod and focusing manually with a 2 year old toddler jumping around and shaking the legs of the tripod). I am surprised that the folks at Nikon are twiddling their thumbs and watching while Kenko snaps up all the sales in this department. A definite must buy if you are new into macro photography and do not want to invest too much in a macro lens, or if you have a macro lens, and want to push the limits and go beyond 1:1.
