A: I contacted Lastolite with your inquiry. The manufacturer states that the Lastolite Panoramic Background (13', White) is not opaque, so light will pass through it. However, the construction of the fabric would prevent it from working like a diffuser such as the HiLite. The weave is tight and dense, so while some light would get through, it would not transmit a lot of light and it would most likely result in a hot spot rather than spreading and distributing the light across the surface like diffuser fabric would.
