A: With its 1" sensor it will out perform cameras with smaller sensor's. You should see acceptable performance in low light with this camcorder. Higher gain will always look like higher gain. So practice good cinematography techniques of exposing correctly, adding light whenever you can and you will get great images.

Q: 3. I am a stringer for 6ABC in Phila.. We still use 1280 X 720 at 59 FPS. Is this camera able to record in that mode?

A: At this time 720p is not listed as supported with the XF705.

Q: 4. There are two little screw holes right under the hole for the shoulder strap at the back of the camera. What is it for?

A: Canon has not announced what those holes are specifically. We image they may be for brackets like this: BEC 5/8" Microphone Bracket Plate B&H # BEMICB.
