Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the dvd R DL work with dvr620ku?

A: If you look at your owner's manual for info on compatible disks you will see nothing about DL (double layer). I doubt this unit has the capability to do double layer. My guess is that you could possibly use these disks but will only be able to use one layer not the second layer. So why bother to use DL vs Single Layer DVDs.The specs on your unit refers to 480 minutes record time (Audio/Video spec)......I think this would correlate to 4.5 GB of data (Computer data spec).FYI the DL (Double Layer) is twice the capacity of a single layer recordable DVD which is 9.8 GB or twice as much Audio/Video provided you equipment can use the 2nd layer to record or play from.Again ............Why pay the extra money if you can't use the extra features ....i.e. the second layer.Hope this helps

Q: 2. Is there any ability to place content description information on the M-Disc BDXL 100 GB media?

A: I mean, you can write on the top of the disc with a Sharpie...

Q: 3. Am I correct in assuming that you can store digital photo images on these? And that they far and away surpass the 700mb? Thank you!

A: Yes, they hold up to 25GB of any kind of data you want to write to them (including photos). 25GB is about 25,000mb). However, be aware you will need a Blu-ray burner that supports M-DISC media to burn these discs. If you have a Blu-ray burner that doesn't specifically support M-DISC media, you may be able to download a firmware update from the manufacturer to support M-DISC media. If the drive doesn't come with burning software, you can get free software on the web that will do the job.We have found that these are a good option if your internet service (like ours) is insufficient to upload photos to cloud backup, as long as you have a place off site to store them (we put them in our safe deposit box). However, because these discs will hold A LOT of pictures, just make sure to create a folder structure/index that will allow you to find photos in the future (at minumum, by year and/or subject). A little planning before you create the discs will save you tons of time in the future in the event you need to use them to locate specific photos.

Q: 4. So these won't support 4K? Description says 1080P

A: The Verbatim BD-R Blu-ray DL 50GB 8x with Branded Surface Disc (25-Pack) can handle up to 1080p resolution video. These discs are not ideal for 4K video.

Q: 5. Are these disks the HTL variety??

A: Yes, I believe these discs are the HTL variety - I've used quite a few of them for burning and had no issues with them. I've never tried the LTH (the cheaper ones) before.

Q: 6. I have a OWC Mercury Pro 16x Blu-ray, 16xDVD, 48xCD Read/Write burner #MR3UBDRW16...Will I be able to burn these 100GB disks with this burner?

A: This will work in your OWC drive

Q: 7. What country are these made in?

A: This product is made in Taiwan.

Q: 8. Are these BD-R LTH (low to high) media? I do not want those, I want HTL

A: We can say that they are extremely reliable and popular but we don't have from the manufacturer whether they are HTL or LTH.

Q: 9. branded surface?

A: it means that the manufacturer's logo is stamped on the dvd. No big deal.

Q: 10. Will this support 4K videos up to 50GB?

A: Yes, the Verbatim 50GB 8x DataLifePlus White Thermal Hub Printable (25 Discs) can support 4K videos up to 50GB.

Yeah, thought that about 1.44MB 3.5 discs

and I thought about CD's
and I thought that about DVD's
and I thought that about BluRay's
BUT, this,, well, it's the next step, I accumulate more files,, they make bigger storage.

Seems to be a pattern - I don't know which of us is driving the bus....

Seems it's impossible to get these in Australia for some reason. These are most definitely the genuine article - 8 speed and I've been copying 40GB+ onto many disks without a problem. Not just movies but personal data backups (don't trust cloud storage, folks, store locally). I'm just about to buy some more. Thanks B&H.

First time buyer. Was skeptical but they carry more items like 50GB blu-ray disc. So I placed order - timely shipping and excellent packaging for shipment. I'm impressed.

It works great. I have recorded movies and they play very well on a Sony player. Don't know the durability of the recordings but they work perfectly.
