  • Works with Canon EOS R5 C
  • This cable is constructed of premium-quality, high-end material.
  • The cable features a braided shield instead of the usual wrapped shield. Because it is denser, this shield is more efficient at protecting against RF interference.
  • Instead of PVC—as commonly found on low-cost cables—the cable's jacket is made of polyurethane wherever possible, preventing the plug and cable from breaking off, even after frequent untwisting and twisting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I am plugging this into a dslr to jam timecode on the camera, am I still able to record audio on the camera, or this unit takes up BOTH camera audio channels?

A: The Ambient Recording ACN-NL-L NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature (2-Pack) (B&H# AMACNNLLD) can deliver timecode to one channel of the audio recorded by a typical two channel (typically called stereo) audio recording capable camera. As such, you would still have the other channel free for recording audio from a microphone or other audio source.

Q: 2. Can it do pass-through charging? (i.e., is this fully functional while also plugged in to charge at the same time?)

A: No, the Ambient Recording ACN-CL Lockit Compact Wireless Timecode Synchronizer when plugged in will receive power but will not actively charge also. To charge, it will need to be powered in the off state.

Q: 3. Can timecode work on two cameras that cannot be set at the same frame rate?

A: Timecode cannot work on two cameras with different frame rates.

Q: 4. Can this record a timecode sequence on its own, not connected to any cameras or other devices, and then have its’ data overlayed over a separate timecoded sequence in post, with the green or red markers showing on the timeline?

A: The Ambient Recording NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature (Single Unit) will log markers based on timecode. As long as the timecode is jammed before recording, those markers can be imported into an Adobe Premiere Pro timeline. You can read more about that process here: https://bhpho.to/3xNZtLi

Q: 5. Can the battery be user replaced when necessary?

A: The battery is built into the NanoLockit and not user serviceable.

Q: 6. Does this require an audio recorder or some other device to send timecode to it?

A: The Ambient Recording NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature generates its own timecode.

Q: 7. Can it be use with a RED dragon and Sounddevice mixpre3 ?

A: I'm sure you can feed the TC in on the Sound Devices with the cable included with the nano lockit. However, the Red cameras need a proprietary adapter cable to feed TC in through a BNC connector. That means you'd also need the lemo to BNC output cable for the nano lockit. Hope that makes sense!

Q: 8. is there a way to set auto frame rate if my camera needs to shoot 24fps then 60fps on a hurry?

A: According to Ambient: The ACN-NL follows the TC frame rate it is jammed with. Thus, if you jam the device with 24 fps (or 23.976) it will take over these frame rates. A 60 fps frame rate is not specified by SMPTE, and therefore not available by the NL. Regarding high speed, the cameras generally switch to internal counting of the frames and are not synced with the other devices. Usually the time code frame rate is not changed within one production. Q: 9. Can you purchase/add additional units (Lockits) for multi cameras, or do they need to be purchased in pairs (send & receive)? I would like to buy the 2 pack now and buy another unit or two later when needed to sync multi cams/audio recorders.

A: Yes it is possible to get a single Lockit if necessary. Ambient Recording NanoLockit Wireless Timecode Generator (Single) B&H # AMACNNL MFR # ACN-NL

Q: 10. My nano do not work with Sony Venice , I send lemo 5 pin and BNC

A: This Time code cable from Ambient Recording for the NanoLockit and Sony Venice camera would need to be added to the kit. https://bhpho.to/3KdmUiQ
