Between the color, bokeh, and sharpness of this lens... WOW. When using it on my Fuji xPro2, the images are almost indistinguishable from those I get using my Leica m240 and 50mm f1.4 Summilux. Obviously, not as good at a micro-level. But it really, really, surprised me just how similar the images looked (FYI, I primarily shoot street and travel photography).
I don't know if every lens (this model) is as good or well made as the one I got, but mine is fantastic!
If I could change anything, it would be for click-stops on the aperture ring. As I tend to shoot this lens wide open, it's disappointing to see—after I've taken the shot—that the aperture ring moved accidentally while I focused. No biggie. But that would be the one thing I'm unhappy about.
And again, as I like to shoot wide-open, I also bought the B+W Variable ND filter. Highly recommended.
My final words... Get this lens!

I'm stepping up to manual, higher quality lenses - from digital prosumer all-in-ones in the past. Wow! Much better than anticipated! I use this with my Fuji X-E3 and couldn't be happier. I've had significant autofocus issues with all-in-ones [eg: Fuji 100S], and so far after a month, I haven't missed a shot due to not having autofocus. In fact, and as other pro reviewers point out, it forces a photog into pre-thinking and planning for your next shot, including ISO, shutter speed, etc. I'm guessing my skills are increasing too. Know however that a manual focus lens in a sea of automated lenses provides for some custom planning: do you use all manual lenses and leave your camera's settings the same, or do you mix and match - forcing you to reconfigure your camera's settings every time you swap a lense? I've gone 100% fully manual with 4 prime lenses! Each one so much lighter than the automated equivalent - and I have 100% total control over focus. I'll be posting pics of my experience on my website's blog - but so far, I'm digging this lens! [and so are my subjects / clients]

Photography is about the image, and you wont be disappointed in the images coming from this lens. Build quality is solid, smooth and sexy (this lens is quite heavy for such a small lens). Controls are buttery smooth, with just the right amount of tension.  Images, even at f0.95, are sharp - edege to edge, with great microcontrast pop, and great color rendition. I like the clickless aperture for fine tuning depth of field, and the manual focus is a breeze on the Fujifilm X series camera using focus peaking. This is a great 35mm lens, definitely worthy to be on your camera. Only Con is that it doesnt come with a hood. Do a quick search to find the right one - 55mm front thread.

For the past few years I've mainly shot on a Canon 6D with a variety of L lenses. I recently picked up a Fujifilm X-E3 because it looked like a fun, yet still capable little camera, and I decided to buy this fully manual lens with it. Oh Man, This Thing Rocks!!! Insanely sharp in the center wide open, and the corners get better as you stop down. Unlike many of the autofocus lenses from Fuji, this lens truly is fully manual, so no focus by wire system here. Manually focusing it is surprisingly simply on the X-E3 and an incredibly fun experience. Bokeh is beautiful. Colors are accurate. Color fringing does show up in a big way in direct sunlight, but not a major issue. 100% recommend it to anyone considering purchasing.

This lens renders beautiful images. Im very impressed with it. Totally worth taking the time to manually focus. I bought it for product and portrait photos but honestly Ive been shooting a little of everything with it. It came in a useful zippered, padded lens case too, instead of that display box theyd shipped in the past.

This lens is a dream, the pictures are so sharp and nice even wide open at f/0.95
not including a lens hood is a bummer as it flares a lot in direct light.

This lens has soul. Nailing focus can be more time consuming than f1.4 or f2, but honestly, soon as you take the shot, youll understand why the lens is a beast. For us fuji people, it really does feel like youre shooting film, but in luxury & w/out film stock...which for some of us, were too busy for. Only issue is the aperture wheel being in front...its really annoying & my copy moves butter smooth w/almost perfect friction, but even brushing against it you might move 1/3 stop w/out knowing & forget you even brushed it while in the moment. Im assuming it had to be that way...? but its constantly something I hate.

My only gripe isnt really with the lens, but customs/conversion rates. I ended up paying frickin $847 for this lens to goto canada....thats insane. INSANE. if id have known fees & all that stupid stuff was in the way i wouldnt have bought this thing. ok maybe close to $700...fine i get it. BUT COME ONNNNNNN!!!! Canadians always get the short end w/technology...so frustrating.

Id upload photos but apparently even the jpgs are too large. If its an issue of quality, dont worry about it. Even wide open this things TACK sharp (assuming you can nail focus in the first place). Just make sure youre cool paying for it.

This is a great lens of high quality. It is a very affordable version of a Voigtlander Nokton or something equivalent. Its not a Zeiss lens, sharp across the frame and perfect. Instead, its a wide aperture lens, very sharp in the middle with fast falloff to the edges creating a beautiful separation from the background which I love. Its got a surprisingly low amount of vignette compared to other lenses Ive used, like the Voigtlander Nokton 1.2 which I used to own. I like some imperfection in my street photography and I like the the flares. The aberration is surprisingly controlled wide open. Because its an APS-C lens dont expect it to create more separation than a full frame 1.2. It thrives close up. If your subject is less than 10 feet away youll get some great backgrounds. More than that and its just a nice lens, but not necessarily that bokeh monster youd expect.
Last point, I think the box it comes in is very nice, but its a waste of money on Mitakons part. Well put the box away and never use it until we resell it.

Some people will say this lens is big, it's not. It has a bit of weight but it's really not that heavy for such a fast lens. The f/0.95 aperture gives you some really surreal looking photos, and yes obviously it's not exceptionally sharp wide open but I like that since it looks nice for portraits. It sharpens quite a bit when you stop down one or two stops. The edges never clean up completely but it doesn't bother me really. Really solid lens that's just metal and glass.
In terms of the T-Stop value, I'd place it at around 1.2 or so, it's not quite T/0.95. It still lets you get a lot of light in dark situations, more than any lens you can get on a Fuji camera for sure.
