The BG-N23 Battery Grip from Vello is designed for the Nikon Z8 mirrorless camera body. It provides an ergonomic grip and accepts one or two separately available EN-EL15c, EN-EL15b, EN-EL15a, or EN-EL15 type rechargeable batteries to effectively double the camera's battery life and extend your shooting time. The BG-N23 offers in-grip battery charging with separate LEDs that display each battery's charge status. It has an alternate shutter release, a sub-command dial, and multiple control buttons including AF-ON and Fn to provide comfortable shooting in portrait orientation.

A: Just checked this out on my D600. You can use the camera with just a battery in the grip. All normal camera functions seemed to work the same as having a battery in the camera body. Hope this helps.

Q: 3. Can you mount the Battery grip to a tripod in the vertical and horizontal position?

A: Yes, I have a studio for 11 years. I use it on my tripod in both horizontal and vertical positions for about 4 years. However I dont move it outside the studio nor does it get bounced around so I dont weaken it.

Q: 4. Does this bracket attach with screws at the upper left hand side where the camera strap attaches?

A: I think you should order thr Kirk PZ-152 which should fit with Battery Grip.

A: Yes. You may slide the Really Right Stuff L-Plate for Nikon Z8 with Battery Grip away from the camera body so there is space between the vertical riser and the side of the camera. By doing so, you would have room between the camera and the L-Plate for tether cables when using the Really Right Stuff L-Plate for Nikon Z8 with Battery Grip in the vertical (portrait) orientation.

A: The Vello Bg-15-2 is only compatible with the Nikon d-750

While it is still early days. the Vello battery grip is working as expected, fits perfectly, and can use the higher capacity batteries and BL-5 battery cap exactly as it should. I have purchased other Vello battery grips in the past and have never had any issues. 5

I unfortunately ordered mine just days before it went on sale, but even at regular price, this grip is excellent.� It functions and looks just as good as the Nikon counterpart, as has been my experience with all of the Vello grips I've used with my cameras.� The only thing I haven't tested is use of the EN-EL18 battery and cap, which I'm fine not bothering with; if I need faster CHF shooting, I'll use my D500.� All in all, if you just want a grip extension and the ability to shoot additional photos, save a few hundred dollars for a bag and batteries by buying this over the OEM part. 5

This grip looks and feels exactly like a Nikon grip at a fraction of the price. It's identical in every single way. I do not know if there is any difference in motor drive speed using the Vello compared to the Nikon. 5

Everything you need in a vertical grip without the cost of a Nikon grip, I purchased mine for the added weight of the extra battery to reduce camera shake. 5

This grip is one quarter the price of the Nikon. It feels good, fits tightly and appears to do what it is supposed to (used only on limited basis so far). Be sure to read the short instruction manual before using. The shutter button lock must be in the locked position before using, or the shutter button won't activate.. 5
