The Flex Plus 17" Teleprompter from Prompter People features a 60/35 beamsplitter glass, a 17" reversing monitor, and a 15mm baseplate. The teleprompter supports nearly any camcorder, ranging from DSLR to ENG, or you can add a separately available iPad/tablet mount. The teleprompter comes with an aluminum extrusion frame, which enables mounting the camera on the prompter without requiring counterweights.

The backlit 17" monitor features built-in reversing, 400 cd/m² brightness, VGA and HDMI inputs, and it is readable from 6' away. A separately available keyboard allows you to type text into the downloadable TeleScroll prompting software for macOS or Windows. The 60/35 glass does not have to be removed when folding the hood for transport or storage. You can mount the camera to the prompter and mount that setup onto your tripod using the sled base.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the widest focal length that can be used (full frame) ?

A: While this is something that would really need to be tested out to determine 100%, with a full frame camera you would probably not want to go any wider than 24mm, maybe even a bit more telephoto.

Q: 2. How well does the auto focus work with a dslr through the prompter glass?

A: That really would depend on the camera you are using and how its auto focus system reacts. If you are using a DSLR with a strong Video AF and the glass is kept clean, it should work well. But that really is something you'd have to test out to see the results.

Q: 3. How does one type and then control the script?

A: This is a Tablet Based Prompter system. You would need to download an App and use that to enter and control the script. There are free options available for this on both the iOS and Android App Stores.

Q: 4. Does this prompter work with Sony XDCAM PMW-200 with lens hood attached?

A: We used the prompter over the Canon CN-E 30-105mm T2.8 L SP. The Canon lens has a 4.5 front diameter.

Q: 5. Can you adjust the angle of the glass? I have found that some ipad teleprompters are at too small of an angle and only work well if you're within a few feet of the subject.

A: No, the angle of glass cannot be adjusted. We've only used the prompter once but using 18mm Zeiss Compact Prime on Sony FS7, we were shooting 12' from talent. I did notice that the top 1/4 of the prompter screen is pretty much a throw away because of the angle of glass but for $300+ range and packs away in under a minute AND fits in a laptop case...it's the compromise.

Q: 6. Will it fit the current iPads with Height 9.8 inches Width 6.8 inches?

A: Users have reported being able to use an iPad of that size with this system.

Q: 7. Can this be used with a Canon C100 MK II or Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k?

A: Yes it can be, just as long as you are using one of those cameras with a 15mm baseplate system.

Q: 8. My computer is HDMI Out and my monitor that I will use is HDMI so why do I need VGA at all?

A: You do not need to use VGA. This dongle is for the software that enables you to connect any monitor (HDMI, Displayport, VGA etc) and use it as a teleprompter. At the time we started carrying this dongle VGA monitors were extremely popular now that you have brought it to our attention we will update the listing.

Q: 9. What is the widest lens one is able to use without catching the teleprompter on the edges?

A: The widest I shot with was a 35mm and I had no issues. I would guess you could get down to 30 MAYBE 25mm before you start catching the edges.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with iPad Air 2? (does it fit)

A: Yes it fits... It's not snug but it works perfectly.
