The B-3 V from Arturia is a virtual instrument that delivers an authentic tone-wheel organ and rotary speaker experience. The rich-sounding B3 has been a staple of jazz, gospel, rock, reggae, and R&B for over a half century. Its electromagnetic tonewheel design gave it a beefy quality not found on later transistor organs. Unlike other virtual instruments that rely on samples that only capture some of the qualities of an original, the B-3V was created using technology that models every aspect of an instrument.

The recreation includes an array of stomp boxes and updates like analog circuit modifications. Other additions include multiple reverbs and the ability to modify previously fixed analog circuit features like key click. A unique addition is a modulation section that automates the movement of the drawbars using envelopes, LFOs, and step sequencers, for infusing the sound with new animated textures. This software instrument can run as a standalone instrument or as a plug-in within your DAW on the AAX Native, AU, VST2, VST3, and NKS platforms.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi will this Battery work with my Cannon 600 ex-rt flash and what kind of cables do i need for it please?

A: Yes, the Quantum Instruments Turbo 3 Rechargeable Battery is compatible for use with the Canon 600EX-RT Speedlite Flash. You would need to purchase the Quantum Instruments CZ2 Power Cable for Turbo Series Power Packs, B&H # QUCZ2, to connect and power the Canon 600EX-RT Speedlite Flash from the Quantum Instruments Turbo 3 Rechargeable Battery.

Q: 2. Will this work with Deity w.lav microphones? Other similar adapter from Movo does not work.

A: Yes, the D-XLR is compatible with Deity's V.Lav microphone. The D-XLR takes 12 to 48 VDC phantom power from the mic preamp on the camera, recorder or mixer you are connecting to and converts it into 3V plug-in power, which is required for operation of the V.Lav.

Q: 3. I understand you still need to have batteries inside the flash (at least with Nikon flashes)so how much is the life of the internal batteries extended by also using an external battery such as the Quantum Turbo SC? And when the internal batteries are dead, the flash stops working, right?

A: I shoot weddings with Canon cameras and speedlites. Without the Turbo I would go thru a lot of AA batteries. I now use only two sets of 4-AA batteries -- I change them when I notice that recycle time is reduced.

Q: 4. Is there a cable to make this pack work with the Nikon sb700?

A: Being that the Nikon SB-700 doesn't have a high voltage port, the Quantum Turbo 3 will not be compatible with it. A compatible battery and cable you can use is Quantum Instruments QB1 + (6V) Battery B&H # QUQB1P and the Quantum Instruments MKZ3 Dedicated Module, B&H # QUMKZ3. Please see the images below.

Q: 5. I see that the CS15 has a bowens mount: will the aputure modifiers (like the Aputure Light Dome 150, etc.) work without melting?

A: As far as the manufacturer states, you are able to use the Aputure Electro Storm CS15 RGB LED Monolight with Aputure Light Domes and Lanterns including the Light Dome 150.

Q: 6. will this unit work with the sb5000?

A: Yes it works very well with Nikon SB5000

Q: 7. Is it a CZ2 cable or a CZ cable.

A: The battery kit comes with a CZ cable.

Q: 8. I currently have 430EXll Cannon Speedlight, is the Turbo 3 Rechargeable Battery by Quantum campatable with this?

A: Unfortunately, the Canon 430EX II is not compatible with the Quantum Turbo line of batteries. It is compatible with the QB1+ battery (B&H # QUQB1P), though. You would just need the MB5 (B&H # QUMB5). Otherwise, to use the Turbo batteries, you would need to upgrade flashes to the 580EX II or 600EX-RT.

Q: 9. Will this work with Voice Technologies VT 500 lavaliers with 3.5mm connectors?

A: This adapter should work with a 3.5mm VT500 wired for Sennheiser systems.

Q: 10. Is the Quantum Instruments Turbo SC Battery Pack approved by IATA for air transport?

A: Yes. The following is listed on the IATA 62nd edition document concerning the Guidance on the Air Transport of UN 3496 Nickel-Metal Hydride Batteries published on January 26, 2021. "These batteries may be shipped by air transport. The batteries are considered “not restricted” provided that the shipper complies with the requirements of Special Provision A199. This may involve the freight forwarder correctly indicating the required text on the air waybill, when an air waybill is used. The UN Number “UN 3496” is not a UN Number used in air transport and should not be used in association with the description of the goods."
