I should have brought this camera sooner. The D850 is a great camera. It is great in low light conditions. I have brought this camera two years ago.

I bought the D850 to mainly shoot wildlife, since my other cameras (D810 and Z7ii) don't have great autofocus when it comes to fast moving subjects. This camera did not disappoint. I have never shot fast moving birds before, so I gave it a go with the D850 and my Sigma 150-600mm lens. I used Group AF and the D850 locked on instantly. The hard part was keeping the Group focus points over the birds. Here's a shot that I had to crop a huge amount. This bird is going for a dragonfly. If I can get this shot, anyone can. This camera rocks!

I'm still learning the ropes of this camera, it's been an upgrade that I have been waiting a while for and the images that I am getting as still learning this camera have been great, even the terrible images. I was always told that it was a heavy clunky camera but it is surprisingly light. I am still in love with it and look forward to the future of taking photos with it.

I've owned a D600 for a long time but dust spotting finally took me down the road to an upgrade. No regrets. I'm still finalizing settings, what I should call savoring my choices.
I can't rave enough about the touch-screen and what it does to simplify the camera's use. Same with sharpness, even at a moderate ISO of 400 shooting a grasshopper as close as my old-school 80-200 2.8 could get then severely cropping in.

Shot a wedding and baby shower, no flash, handheld with great results. Handled the low light in the church with no problems.

The name, Nikon, has always stood for superior design and performance. The Nikon D850 continues the tradition. I traded a D810 for the D850 because of the higher resolution and the tilting monitor. I expected these new features to be of great value to my style of photography, but what I got was an impressive improvement in the quality of my photos. The 45.7 MP resolution is a huge improvement that I did not expect. The tilting monitor made my flower photos much easier to take.

Prior to buying this I had a D810 for ~7 years that worked flawlessly. Within the past year I purchased both the newest 24-70 and 70-200 lenses and started to be fanatic about sharpness. With both of those lenses on the D810 I saw a marked improvement over the 28-300 I was shooting with for years, but still saw some grain when you are cropping / examining minor details. With the D850 in my first round of edits I am pretty amazed at the difference!

There are other minor upgrades of course - the backlit buttons is a nice feature and the controls just all feel perfect. I was in the market to either sell everything and convert to mirrorless, but decided to reinvest in DSLR by buying this camera and probably won't be purchasing something again for 10 years now. Happy overall with the purchase and do see it being a worthwhile upgrade from a D810. From other cameras beneath because of course the 810 was no slouch, it would just be that much better.

Very pleased with the D850. Older technology but great 41MP pictures.

Prism system better for my old eyes and more responsive.
Focus system excellent.
I'm a long time Nikon user and I like the control layout and options.
For new or young users, mirror-less cameras are a better choice.
