All you need for a personal tripod. May be a bid heavy for some (I am a strong guy) IT DOES HAVE an illuminated bubble! ... Overall very happy! after a long research I made the right decision.See my unpacking video on U Tube: FSB 6 UNBOXING

I bought this tripod to upgrade my video rig. It's much stronger than what I presently need, but will be able to support my future camera, which will be heavier than the one I presently use. Set up is easy, with the spreader bar offering additional stability. The fluid head is amazingly smooth, meaning the limits of the pans, tilts, and combinations will be the operator's ability. This truly makes a difference in the quality of the shots. Finally, the included bag is a great extra. It has a shoulder strap and grab handle and fits the tripod quite well. Sachtler deserves the praise they get for this excellent product as well as the price it commands.

As always a fantastic product from Sachtler. Smooth pans and tilts and the lighted bubble level is bonus in low light. Great set up and legs are rock solid . . . all around excellent!

I used to shoot 35mm and 16mm music videos, docos, ads, features. So I was comfortable with the much bigger, sturdier (and more expensive) Sachtlers rented for me. So I was a bit underwhelmed at the small size of the FSB 6 when it came out of the box. However it is perfect for what I now want, shooting my own film with the Canon 5D Mk2. It's mobile, lightweight and perfect for shooting solo. I can pick up the sticks, camera and bag easily and just walk off. I'm doing very static shots and so far the long end of the 70mm-200mm is fine, but NOT for pulling focus without a rig - every vibration is seen if you even touch the camera. It gets down nice and low too, removing the need for baby legs. Any lower and I can just go on the ground. I love how the legs just fall to the ground when you hold it up to the height you want and release the legs.

I bought this tripod to use with my Panasonic HPX 170. I have another Sachtler that is about 9 years old and love it, though there are pieces of that one that have broken off so I needed a new one. I bought the same one only this newer version is aluminum and therefore about 2 pounds lighter. You wouldn't think it, but that does make carrying it around easier. I find this tripod to be great for panning, tilting, etc. Pretty much everything you need in a tripod.

The tripod is a great value for your money. Sure you can get something like a Video 18 or a higher end Miller, but you're paying for more. Sure there are better tripods out there than this, but with higher end tripods weight is a real issue. The tripod system is composed of the Sachtler FSB-6 Head and TT 75 Carbon Fiber sticks which all together weighs about 10 lbs. It's not a paper weight, but its light enough. The weight I believe is a good thing. It makes the tripod feel solid. The tripod is still very long when folded and collapsed all the way so it will not fit in a backpack. Luckily Sachtler provides a carrying case included. The fluid head is very smooth and has a 10-Step counterbalance. There are 4 settings for how much friction you want on the head allowing you to get fast and slow pans. The kit includes a 2 stage carbon fiber tripod with a 75mm bowl. The sticks are sturdy and are light weight coming in at only 4 pounds. The rubber feet on the sticks retract to reveal spikes which would be excellent for outdoor shooting. Overall it's a great value.

I use this as my personal tripod for super 8, super 16mm, and for digital dslr cameras. I like the fact that is small enough to fit in a bag and easy to set up but powerful for sure and with a real fluid head movement. I cannot think of anything bad about it other than I am not too crazy about the mid level spreader but other than that is a dream come true.

What a great kit! I struggled with the decision and finally decided to plunk down the money for this even though it was more money than I had planned. I am not disappointed. Extremely well made, easy to balance, and works great with my DSLR setup.

Sachtler is definitely a great way to go if you are looking for a professional style tripod. I was trying to be economical, but not cut back on quality. I compared this head to the Bogen 504HD head and found this to be far superior in terms of build quality and smoothness. This is a tripod that will last a life time. Very happy with it.
