This 8K Bidirectional HDMI 2.1 Switcher from iVANKY is a versatile switcher designed primarily for gaming and high-resolution signal routing. Equipped with two HDMI input/output ports and one HDMI output/input, the unit allows you to seamlessly switch between a gaming console and a media player, laptop, or other content source and send that selection to your display at resolutions up to 8K60. The bidirectional HDMI connectivity facilitates operation in both 2 x 1 and 1 x 2 configurations, with the latter allowing you to use this device as a signal splitter.
Gamers can experience in-depth gaming immersion in resolutions up to 4K at 120 fps, with support for HDR, 3D, and Dolby Vision providing versatility when viewing other types of content. The unit is powered via HDMI and therefore does not require the use of a separate power supply, and switching control is achieved via an integrated selector button or by using an optional remote control.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. I want to place this between a computer and projector looping through a Blackmagic ATEM. HDMI (Computer) - SDI (ATEM) - SDI (ATEM-AUX) - HDMI (Projector). The question is what happens if the ATEM is off. Will this automatically switch the projector to the Computer HDMI (Computer) - HDMI (Projector)?
A: As we see it, the outputs are always active so you should be good to go.
Q: 2. What is the preferred placement of the converter in the signal path that is comprised of camera/monitor/streaming switcher and why?
A: With this being a bi-directional converter there is not preferred placement of the signal path. When connecting the cables I would recommend using a shorter HDMI cable compared to the SDI cable, since the HDMI signal isn't as strong as the SDI signal. For an example, if your camera has a SDI video out but your switcher has a HDMI input you would connect the longer SDI cable from your cable to the converter. Then have the convert close to the switcher and connect the HDMI cable out from the converter to your switcher.
Q: 3. Decimator MD-LX - What type of mounting Solution? Can these Devices be stacked in a Rackmounted solution?
A: This will fit on a 1U shelf. Here are possible solutions: Middle Atlantic UFA Shelf (1 Space) B&H # MIUFA8F1, Gator Cases Racksworks 1U Shelf with Universal Hole Pattern B&H # GAGRWSHELF1U, Camplex Universal Rackmount for Blackmagic Design Micro Converters (1 RU) B&H # CAXBMICRO1RM.
Q: 4. How many MD-LX can I daisy chain? In need to feed an HDMI signal to 6 TVs about 40' between each TV. I want to loop from one to the next via RG6 then drop of the MD-LX to each TV. Will that work?
A: In theory there should not be a limit to the amount used as it will re-clock the signal.
Q: 5. What type of cable is recommended to send the SDI?
A: Hi Michael, This is Jules from product support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor in the US. Any good quality SDI cable with full size BNC connectors will be fine for carrying the SDI signal as long as it's rated for the combination of format and distance you need, most of the quality cable manufacturers have tables available that show the maximum distance each cable will reliably carry the format you are intending to use. B&H stock a great selection of cables and their experts are really knowledgable (as well as friendly!) so I'm sure they will help you choose a suitable one if you can let them know the format you are sending (for example: 720p25, 1080p60) and also the length of cable you need. I hope this helps... Jules
Q: 6. If I send HD SDI in to be converted to HDMI will it loop out the SDI signal to the SDI out?
A: Yes, the default setting is to send signal to both outputs whenever you plug into an input.
Q: 7. what's required to power it - just a usbc to usb a cable?
A: Yes. Most any 5 Volt USB power or charger will work.
Q: 8. Is HDCP compliant?
A: Yes, it will pass an hdcp compliant signal. Just remember to make sure that everything else in the chain is hdcp.
Q: 9. What is the weight of the unit itself, without the cardboard box and packaging?
A: While the exact weight is not listed, the box it ships in weighs 0.73 pounds. We would imagine the unit will be only around a half pound or so.
Q: 10. Does this pass embedded audio?
A: It passes embedded audio.
