The black, redesigned MT190XPRO4 Aluminum Tripod from Manfrotto builds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO4's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.2" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.

One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.

The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.

The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.

Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.

The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are any of manfrotto's levelling ball centre columns compatible with this model? If so.. which one would you guys recommend?

A: No unfortunately, none of the Manfrotto leveling bases or center columns are compatible with this model tripod.

Q: 2. The Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod with MHXPRO-3W 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head Kit (comes with a 3-way pan/tilt head kit which i like. (can i get the same kind of Pan Tilt head for the MT190XPRO4 Aluminum Tripod by Manfrotto) or something close to that or can one use the MHXPRO-3W 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head Kit with this tripod.

A: You can use the Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W http://bhpho.to/1ra0sWT on the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 Tripod.

Q: 3. can this be used with the Oben GH-30 gimbal head mount?

A: Yes, they are compatible.

Q: 4. does this have sandbag hook in the center column?

A: It doesn't

Q: 5. Can I use an old Manfrotto head with this tripod? Like the 3030?

A: Yes you can use a 3030 head. That head has a flat base with a 3/8 female and this tripod has a 3/8 male.

Q: 6. What material is the center column tightening knob? Plastic or Metal? Thanks!

A: The knob itself is a hard plastic. I have had this tripod for several years and have used the heck out of it w/o any problems. I have traveled with it to the jungles of Honduras to the desert in Nevada and the mountains of Idaho. It still works like new.

Q: 7. Despite having an extra segment per leg, the MT190XPRO4 has the same max height & support weight as the MT190XPRO3. Is one better or more desirable than the other? What difference does an extra segment make, if it doesn't extend further? Is it just extra moving parts (and potential points for mechanical failure), or is there a benefit?

A: The addition of the extra segment allows the tripod to fold down smaller. 20.7 vs 24

Q: 8. Does this come with a case/bag?

A: No it dose not.

Q: 9. Can the center column be removed from the tripod in order to store in carry on luggage?

A: Once the center column is raised as far as it will go, there is a small tab at the bottom which keeps it from accidentally coming all the way out. If you push that tab in with your finger, it will allow the center column to come all the way out.

Q: 10. Is the carbon fiber or the Aluminum more robust for using outdoors in dry, sandy , sometimes windy environments?

A: Carbon fiber is usually lighter weight , for sand and water condition it will be more robust , for wind I use counter weight
