Q: 1. Does off camera flash work with camera pop-up flash ?
A: The easiest way to trigger the YN685 is to add a YN622-TX.You can control the YN685 with the YN622-TX mounted on your camera. However it will block the popup flash from popping up. This will give TTL and other function the Nikon camera creative lighting system offers 1e HSS. Multi-flash and Flash Lock.
Q: 2. Hi...I just purchased a yongnuo 685 flash....I own two Yongnuo 560IV with the 560 Tx....the 685 states that it is compatible with the 560 tx, but I am wondering how you get this to work...I noticed that someone said they need to be synced...does anyone know how to do this??
A: Still haven't it because I still can't figure it out!
Q: 3. Could someone tell me how much bigger the Yongnuo YN685 is when compared to the SB 700 or 910?...Thank you
A: Really not that much bigger than the 910. I use my Yongnuo on my D500 and my D800 and it's not bad at all. Works great I may add.
Q: 4. Will this flash trigger when the Canon camera is in live view?
A: Yes it will
Q: 5. Is this compatible with Nikon D300 ?
A: Yes
Q: 6. How do I select high speed sync? There is no SYNC function showing on the display panel.
A: The Yongnuo YN685 Wireless TTL Speedlite and Wireless Flash Controller Kit for Nikon Cameras does support High Speed Sync. Note on Nikon cameras that is set from the menu of the camera. And not all Nikon cameras have that. It is called Auto FP.
Q: 7. I have a Canon 60D and use a Canon 600EX_RT flash would this trigger this YN685 flash?
A: The Canon will not trigger the 685. If you are looking for a flash compatible with the Canon 600 system use the Yongnuo 600ex flash YOYN600EXRT. Alternatively, any Canon TTL flash can be integrated into the 600 flash system using Yongnuo's E3rt receiver
Q: 8. Buenos das! tengo una canon 80d, este flash sirve para la cmara? lo recomiendan? gracias!
A: Si esto es compatible con su Camera.
Q: 9. Can I use 2 of these flashes at the same time and control them independently from each other??? IF NOT, would I need any type of trigger for the 2 unit??
A: Hi Manny, I have not tried that yet but my understanding from reading the literature and from reviews is that the transceiver can trigger multiple units independently. Some guy actually discusses this at length on a YouTube video. Sorry, I don't have time to look it up for you. It's easy to find as there are very few tutorials on the YN685
Q: 10. I have 2 of these 685 flashes and a friend I was shooting with today has 2 with his Canon and he had one on the camera as a master and the other as an off camera flash as a slave. I could not get mine to do so. This flash will not act as a master and the other as a slave?
A: The Yongnuo YN685 does not have an optical master or slave feature built in. It is limited to slave flash via radio trigger from the YN622C II or the YN622C TX.
