Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will a 5.5mm x 2.1mm x 10mm coax connector fit the power socket??

A: The manufacturer does not specify the plug requirements. You will need to contact the manufacturer for a compatible power supply. Yongnuo Tel: (212) 594-2120 Website https://yongnuousa.net/

Q: 2. What batteries can I use w/ this fixture in the field? It's a 48v fixture - not my usual battery type

A: The BB&S Lighting Area 48 Color RGBWW LED Panel is 48V, and the smallest of battery setups would be one like the BLUESHAPE Rugged Mini Power Station Kit with 2 x 290Wh Batteries (V-Mount), B&H # BLSK2VR290 (https://bhpho.to/4gVP02p).

Q: 3. Can this product be battery powered?

A: Yes, the lights can use a D-tap. So you can use as long as the battery is 14 volts and either has a D-tap your get a battery plate. Like the one listed below.

Q: 4. What DC charger goes with this? It says coax plug, but there are 2-3 DC coax plug types I know of.

A: The ac adapter for this is # FUACADPTR12V

Q: 5. Will NP-F960 or NP-F970 batteries work in this light? Thanks.

A: All the NP-F9XX batteries share the same connection and voltage. Therefore they are completely safe and interchangeable. The difference is the amperage and thus how long they will last. Low drain devices like small camcorders benefit from the lower amperage batteries. Higher drain devices like lights or monitors benefit from higher amperage. The down side is more weight and expense. The NP-F960 or NP-F970 will work fine with this light.

Q: 6. How long does the Area 48 run on say a standard AB Dionic HC or HCX?

A: This is a very bright led light. The light at full power uses about 145 watts. A battery that is around 95Wh will last less than an hour. If you use a stronger battery or less power on the light it will last longer.

Q: 7. How many 8' Pipeline Reflect fixtures can be run from one power supply? Can a splitter be used? Also, all the pipeline reflects seem to have a 3 pin, but the 8' calls out a 4 pin XLR. Does that work with their 3 pin power supply? Also, what yoke would you sue if attaching to a pipe clamp in a grid?

A: Each BB&S Lighting Pipeline Reflect (5600K, 8') uses its own power supply. I draws to much power to split, It is BH #BBS3694 • MFR #BBS-3694, https://bhpho.to/3DN9XLf . And the yoke is BH #BBS6423 • MFR #BBS-6423, https://bhpho.to/3WkYD08

Q: 8. What is the lux at 1 meter?

A: Yongnuo lists Lumen: 4680LM or 4680 Lumens at 1m. One lux is equal to one Lumen per square meter.

Q: 9. Does it fit into Sony RX10 iii?

A: Yes it does. You may just need to add a basic shoe mount to put it on top of your RX10 III, such as B&H # RESACS14M.https://bhpho.to/2jmU8ES

Q: 10. Is this fixture 4- or 5-pin DMX?

A: The fixture is 5-pin XLR for DMX input and output.

Led's are very bright and powerful. There was no english manual, i had tough time getting started. The big advantage is external batteries which you can buy from third party. I got two big ones so that i do not have to worry about anything else.

I've found Yongnuo products to be reliable, so when I wanted to buy a powerful LED panel, I was happy to see that Yongnuo was offering a 1200 LED panel at a fraction of the price of the pro-grade units. I ran this one for a couple of hours on full power and it works fine. The construction quality seems pretty good, but it's fairly lightweight so I don't plan to abuse it. I haven't tried running it with batteries, as I only want it for indoor video use. Make sure you order the matching power supply as it is a bit hard to find and you will pay more if you order it out of Hong Kong on Ebay. I'm ordering a second panel now. If for some reason I don't like these panels in actual video use, I will post something here.

I was able to get it through some forum contacts, I believe this was a Beta unit, because the new one I recently got was a little bit different (The backplate, the power supply) Both the 18 and 36 versions of the lights are amazing, I first got a 36 version and I liked it so much, I got one more 36 and I got an 18 version, in Daylight. The 18 light is small enough to get 3 of them into a Run and Gun lighting kit, with room to spare for accessories. I see they have the V-Mount option for pre-order, and I plan on getting a few when they're for sale. This light outperforms my Kino Diva's in 1/4 of the space. They put out a ton of light, and I love the COB Led's instead of the Lensed LEDs. the Color is amazing on the light, I got 96 CRI, and it's so nice to see a manufacturer that isn't putting out fake photometric data on their lights (A lot of lights I get claim high CRI only to find out they are unusable, with a greenspike or a magenta cast). The light does wrap a face like they say, but to avoid the multiple shadows, you have to use diffusion on the barndoors or the ones that come with the lights. Also the fact that Flolight is including high quality LEE filters that are specially made for LEDs is pretty impressive. I'm used to get cheap plastic filters, that are well a joke. Anyone who shoots with LEDs panels knows that you have to use diffusion if you plan on shooting any person or subject with depth or contours. I feel like this light was built with care, and it feels like it's going to last for years. There's no plastic cheap anything with the body of the light. I think the one big downfall of the light is the power supply. The first one I got had on on/off switch, and the new one does not? I'm not sure what this is about, maybe they're going to fix this in the future? I'm glad I finally found an upgrade to my Kinos, no more broken bulbs or huge lights to lug around!

I am a wedding/event videographer and this light exceeded my expectations. I use two of them lighting the dance floor and set them up using my 9' stands. In my last event these lights where on for over 5 hours at 50% of power and still I had more than 50% of charge in my NP-F960-970 batteries.

I utilize this as a shop light coupled with the Impact Mid-Range Boom Arm with Light Stand & Casters Kit and it has fulfilled my needs very well. I used it as a shop light, not for photography. That doesn't mean I haven't used it to take some pictures as well but it's mainly a positional work light in my possession.
