Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this hold a Sigma 150-600mm lens?

A: There are different models of Sigma zoom lenses that are 150-600mm, so it's impossible to give a single definitive answer to your question. As such, we'll just say that even the longest of the compartments of the Lowepro Powder Backpack 500 AW (Gray and Orange) (B&H# LOP500AWGO) is about the same length as the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens for Canon EF (B&H# SI1506005CC) which is the most popular Sigma 150-600mm that we sell. Moreover, it would be so tight a fit with the newer Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Lens for Sony E (B&H #SI150600SE) (also available for L mount cameras) that you may not consider it a good fit at all. In the cases of at least those two especially popular Sigma 150-600mm lenses it is clear that neither will fit while attached to any camera.

Q: 2. What size / brand/ model avalanche probes and shovel are depicted in the product photos? What size probes and shovels will fit in the avalanche equipment section of the backpack?

A: The dimensions of the front compartment of the Lowepro Powder Backpack 500 AW are as follows. 12.20 x 0.79 x 19.68 in / 33 x 22.5 x 54 cm. There is no information currently on which items are used in the images.

Q: 3. How is the size of this thing? - too bulky?

A: Bulky would be a subjective denomination -- We would not consider these dimensions as being bulky: 11 x 8 x 3.5" / 27.9 x 20.3 x 8.9 cm

Q: 4. Will this hold a Nikon Z8 with a 24-120 mm f4 and a Nikon D500 with a 500 mm f5.6 PF?

A: The Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S Lens (Nikon Z) attached and the Nikon D500 DSLR Camera with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens attached fit in the MindShift Gear PhotoCross 15 Backpack (Orange Ember).

Q: 5. Can this bag carry my camera gear and a lightweight tent and sleeping matt

A: Interior dimensions are : 11.81 X 24.41 X 7.87 inches

Q: 6. What are the d rings used for? Do they dangle and get annoying?

A: The D-rings are used to attach various accessories such as clamps, carabiners, tape, etc. They dangle a bit but they do not hinder any type of performance.

Q: 7. What is the captivity of the bag? Is it 50L

A: It has Interior Dimensions: 11.81 x 24.41 x 7.87" / 30 x 62 x 20 cm

Q: 8. Is this for left handed? zip opening on the right? and the picture of guy also opened the compartment using his right hand?

A: If you are accessing the side compartment of the MindShift Gear PhotoCross 15 Backpack (Orange Ember) you will remove the strap from your left shoulder, turn the backpack to the front while holding the backpack onto your right shoulder and then open the zipper compartment with your right or left hand. It can be done with either one.

Q: 9. Does it hold a 15" laptop?

A: Yes, there is a laptop compartment that holds a 15" laptop.

Q: 10. I'm confused... is this a gear bag or a dop kit?

A: This bag has a side handle to carry it. It also has exterior dimensions of 11.8 x 6 x 6 inches, which is small enough to drop in to another bag. It can be used for either.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag stands out as truly remarkable due to its unique chest clip, which seems almost magical in its convenience and functionality. It's the kind of feature that makes you wish more bags incorporated it. Beyond this captivating clip, the bag excels in other aspects as well. One of its notable strengths is its ability to strike a balance between size, quality, and camera accessibility. The bag offers a comfortable and secure experience, thanks to the thick and flexible padding in the camera area. This feature ensures your equipment's safety, even in the event of an unexpected spill, such as when riding a bike. However, it's worth noting that the side door for camera access is a bit on the small side. This can be a minor inconvenience, particularly when you're dealing with larger camera lenses. While it's generally good for camera access, there might be occasional moments where you find yourself fumbling with your equipment. On the bright side, the bag has several other compelling features. The well-placed laptop compartment adds versatility for those who need to carry their computer alongside their camera gear. The extended roll-top design is appreciated for its ability to adapt the bag's size to your needs. Moreover, the bag's clip systems, as well as the inclusion of a tripod and a water bottle holder, are impressive additions that enhance its overall functionality. In summary, this bag is an excellent choice for camera enthusiasts. For those embarking on extended camera-related work or trips, it might be worth considering a larger version of this bag, given its practicality and comfort in various situations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The camera bag is well made and thought out. It will help keep your gear organized and protect it from the elements and from dropping. It has plenty of pockets. I like the way the pockets on the sides can be expanded for water bottles ( or whatever you drink) and then have a zipper to hold them to the side of the pack when you are not using them. The zippers are sturdy and smooth.
