Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am planning on purchasing this lens to get inside archtecture models to get good interior photographs. This lens seems like it should work well. Any thoughts?

A: Yes, it will work for your planned usage needs. The Venus Optics Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens has a minimum focus distance of 18.5 minimum focus distance, though it has an incredibly short 0.78 inch working distance. Also, the lens has built-in LED lights so you can use the light to illuminate your working area (as the lens has a low f/14 maximum aperture). If you are shooting small models, but you still want detailed images of the models you wish to shoot, this may be a great option to try for your planned usage needs.

Q: 2. I intend to use this lens on a Canon C100MK2 with a super 35mm sensor, but would like to take advantage of the full 24mm field of view for wide angles. What adaptor do I need to avoid to the crop factor? Is that possible?

A: The C100 Mark II has an EF mount and this is an EF mount lens. There is no EF to EF adapter. When you use this lens on the C100 Mark II it will be subject to the 1.5x crop factor.

Q: 3. Is the Integrated Focus and Aperture Gears the only difference between the Cine-Mod version and the normal one? Is there another thing for which to pay $ 200 USD extra? LED with a higher CRI?

A: Just the focus gear , for smother focus during video

Q: 4. Whats new in this release?

A: This model has a direct Sony E mount on it.

Q: 5. To use on the Blackmagic Cinema Pocket 4k, what adapter would be recommended? Metabones? Viltrox? .64? .71?

A: Due to the BMPCC4K having a MFT-sensor with a 2x crop factor, the closest to getting this lens to its original field of view would be the 0.64x, making this approximately a 30mm lens. The 0.71x would give you an approximate focal length/angle of view equivalent to a 34mm. What's recommended would depend on your desired outcome; for example, if you desire crisper detail, the 0.71x would have less compression of detail but offer a narrower view.

Q: 6. Does this record audio with video?

A: The battery life of the Teslong TD500 Articulating Lens Inspection Camera with 5" Screen has a battery that lasts 3-4hrs of video recording. The Teslong TD500 supports microSD recording of video to the included 32GB card. The 32GB card will be able to store much more than 3-4hrs of video recordings. You can also add another card for even more video recording. SanDisk 32GB Ultra UHS-I microSDHC Memory Card BH #SASDSQ432GB

Q: 7. Will this lens work with the F mount adapter for the Nikon Z6?

A: Yes this lens can work on the Nikon FTZ adapter for use on the Nikon Z6.

Q: 8. Does this lens have infinity focus?

A: Yes the Venus Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens for Nikon Z does offer infinity focus.

Q: 9. Is this "2×MACRO PROBE"?

A: This lens does offer a Maximum Magnification of 2x with a Macro Reproduction Ratio of 2:1.

Q: 10. Is it sharp?

A: As long as the lens is focused properly on your subject, yes, the Venus Optics Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens for Canon EF, B&H # VE2414C, would be sharp. This is a macro lens, so do note that the lens may have shallow depth of field when used close to your subject, but as it is a manual focus lens, if you focus properly on your subject, the subject should be in sharp focus.

I have been using mirror less cameras for 10 years. Currently primarily using G9.
The image through the viewfinder is significantly superior to the G9(which is very good) The D500’s autofocus is magic compared to my mirror less cameras.
I really like my G9, but really, really, really like this Nikon.

I have owned high end DX lenses for 16 years and keep a DX camera body for that reason. This D500 is a fabulous camera. Instant focus and near instant report. With recent price reduction it is one third the price of my first D2x and ten times the camera.

This D500 is an awesome camera for bird photography, especially when paired with the AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm, f5.6 E ED VR lens. The camera has many pro features and yet is very to use.
