A: No there are no external components that will muffle the fan noise, and no such product is recommended by Red as it may cause over heating and damage the camera

Q: 3. Canon mount totally forced...?

A: Nope. You can get the brain without a mount. Most just want Canon mount because of the lens selection. How else would you use the 18-35mm sigma? With a Nikon mount? Not likely.

Q: 4. Can we record on non red cfxpress card ?

A: We cannot guarantee compatibility with non-RED media. However, the RED CFexpress cards are the only ones certified by RED for use in their cameras.

A: The Canon CINE-SERVO 25-250 will cover up to a Super35 sensor size. With the RED Raptor, you will be able to shoot up to 6K without any vignette.

Q: 7. Does it comes with a timecode port?

A: No it does not.

Q: 8. As of January 2022 only the RED CFExpress card is "approved". Does this mean that if I put in another card the camera won't accept it? Or does it just mean that RED hasn't approved it to be fast enough to capture 8K120 Raw? Two very different things and just wondering if anyone has tried any other media. Thanks!

A: The RED PRO CFexpress Type B cards are RED approved, meaning they have been tested and approved by RED. Third-party media cards are compatible with the camera system but are not officially approved by RED. As long as the read and write speeds of the third party media meet or exceed those of the RED PRO CFexpress Type B cards, there should be no issue using third party media cards. Just note that damage and warranty will not be covered by RED.

Q: 9. It is possible from 6k to 4k downscale without aspect cropping mode?

A: No. Changes in resolution will result in changes in the active sensor area that can be down scaled. You can do that in your NLE.

Q: 10. What button or dial wheel controls the lens aperture on this kit? Or am I missing something here? Thanks

A: It is all controlled with this type of set up, through the touchscreen.

This is my second CFExpress card having bought a Lexar 64GB previously. The Lexar runs very, very hot and although apparently it's designed to run at higher temperatures than XQD cards it's still unnerving. The Prograde runs much cooler and having taken several thousand shots with it I have had zero issues. Prograde is also one of the Nikon recommended CFExpress cards. I can recommend this CFExpress card. 5

Love this card. With its speed and capacity, I do not need to worry about the card is full and need to swap any more. I may need to get another one in case I leave it in the card reader and forget to put back into camera. Knock on wood, it never happened yet. 5
