Q: 1. I'm looking for the best option for me (mens documentary chestvest or Mens Digital Chestvest). I always carry two bodies MIII and X1, 3 lenses 24-70, 70-200, 17-55. Im a photojournalist. Which one is the best for me?
A: I would recommend the Digital Chestvest for your needs.
Q: 2. I have a Nikkor 20-500mm telephoto lens and am wondering if this will hold it. I also have a kit and wide-angle lens, so the problem is if I switch to one of them what do I do with the Nikkor? I only have one camera body, so the holster systems I have seen are useless. The backpack I use carries all the lenses, but is to bulky. Thank you for your help!
A: Not sure if one that large will fit, Ive fit my canon 72-200 fine, but not sure how those 2 compare
Q: 3. Will it fit an Olympus E-M1X?
A: Yes. This should fit an Olympus E-M1X.
Q: 4. Will this short poncho work with nikkor 300mm 2.8 vr2 + tc1.7?
A: This short poncho will work with the 300mm f/2.8 VR II, however with the added length of the teleconverter, this lens poncho will be too short.
Q: 5. Will this fit the Canon 800 mm lens on a Canon 1DX?
A: No, this will not fit that camera and that lens. But this one will. Newswear Long Lens Rain Poncho for Canon (Black) B&H # NELLRPC1DXC
Q: 6. Does Newswear make a women's foul weather digital chestvest? I see a men's version but not a women's. (Which is troubling.) Also, it's not clear from this picture whether there is also a waist strap, or if you have to have the chest straps on at all times. Is there a waist-only strap option?
A: Yes, Newswear does make a women's foul weather chestvest but I purchased the one shown here almost two years ago (not listed as foul weather ) and it's some of the best money I've spent on photo accessories! I always use it when I'm in the field and I've had it in the elements in Yellowstone in Jan and Feb, in the sand dunes in Death Valley and out in the rain - never had a single issue with it.It does have a waist strap in addition to the shoulder straps. The straps are all adjustable and I carry lots of gear in it (70-200mm lens, filters, etc). It's much better on my back than a backpack and I'm 5'7', 120 lbs. I don't think they make a waist strap only option and the shoulder straps cannot be removed (they are sewn in at one end). To me, the shoulder straps help distribute the weight of all the gear more evenly than just around the waist. But you could just fold down the shoulder straps and use the waist strap if you wanted to.If and when this wears out, I will purchase another Newswear Chestvest!! Hope this helps.
Q: 7. Can the top arm (holding the flash) be rotatated?
A: The top arm of the Wimberley F-1 Telephoto Combo Flash Bracket can be rotated when holding a flash.
Q: 8. Will both straps go over the right shoulder? I have a pacemaker on my left side and any straps over the left shoulder with chaff again the pacemaker.
A: This is a great vest and very adaptable---I just tried it on like this and because the shoulder straps adjust you can do it and feels fine. The waist strap you could also cinch up so the hips would take a little more weight. It could be that the pulled over strap would come up to high on the neck, so i would maybe sew up the strap against the regular fitting side just lower off the shoulder and more onto the chest. You could also try crossing the straps across the front instead on the back where they are designed to cross over----all in all, I think you make it work fine. Good luck.
Q: 9. Hi, I need to get an off camera flash bracket. I have the Wimberley head version II.I shoot a nikon d800 and d300, 300mm 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 24-70. This bracket was recommended to me. Is this the one I should get or is there another, etc.??? And do I need some accessories to make this work with my camera.thanks,Wendy
A: Since you are using long lenses, the Wimberly F-1 will be an excellent choice for a flash bracket. To use this bracket with your camera, you can use the Wimberly Module 8 Perpendicular Plate: http://bhpho.to/1qZf2mP
Q: 10. In terms of the size of the pouches, how does this Womens Digital Vest compare to the Newswear Womens Medium Chestvest?
A: Both have the same amount of pouches. The Medium version has two longer pouches and two smaller ones. And the Womens Digital Chestvest has one long and the three smaller ones. They are very similar but the Digital can hold telephoto lenses like the Nikon 80-200mm zoom or the Canon 70-200mm lens (without lens shade attached). And the Medium can hold most telephoto lenses like the Nikon 80-200mm zoom lens and the 300mm F4 as well as the Canon 70-200mm zoom lens and the Canon 300mm F4 telephoto.
