Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I leave the AA battery in or do I need to remove it when I'm done recording?

A: You can leave a AA battery inside of the RODE NTG2 Shotgun Microphone as long as you will be using the mic again within a few days. Otherwise, it is always best to remove the battery from an electronic device that will not be used for a while in order to prevent damage from problems caused by the battery leaking.

Q: 2. Do you have the version with the lateral output?

A: The BC-12P does have an integrated XLR cable that exists laterally (from the side).

Q: 3. will this work well as a boom mic or the Rode NTG 2 for short films. I use zoom h5 or at times the h1.

A: yeah, totally, We use it like a boom mic in several works

Q: 4. Does it comes with some kind of box or something for the hole Kit?

A: No, everything is separate. So you need to get a case or a bag if you want to have eveything neatly stored.

Q: 5. Where do you get a data sheet for this film?

A: While I do not see a data sheet for the Lomography Earl Grey 100 speed film, the first link below from Lomographys website lists their development chart for use with several popular developers, and the second link is the link to contact Lomography directly (using the Contact Us e-mail form on their website), which you may use to contact Lomography directly to see if they have more data on the film. Hope this helps. http://bit.ly/29RVsXu http://bit.ly/29MDdkz

Q: 6. Can this be connected to a iPhone 6s Plus?

A: Yes but you will need the SC4 TRS to TRRS adaptor. a href= http://www.rode.com/accessories/sc4 target= _blank http://www.rode.com/accessories/sc4/a

Q: 7. Will this work well for picking up actors' lines for a live theatre event?

A: The Rode NTG2 Shotgun Microphone is highly directional, meaning it will pick up what it is pointed at in a range of 2-3 feet, but not much else. Unless the actors are stationary or there is an operator that will move this mic along with the actors as they move, I would not recommend using the NTG2 for this purpose.

Q: 8. How do I know if the mic is on?

A: As soon as you put the battery in then it's turned on. You'll need to monitor it some how, either with headphones or some kind of battery level display. I always take the battery out after i'm done using the mic for a day because if not it will just drain the battery dead in storage because it's always on. What I do is I hook the mic up to my zoom H1. You just need a small XLR to 1/8th input and then you're able to monitor the levels with headphones attached to the zoom H1. I hope this helps.

Q: 9. Does this work well with video booths? Like not picking up a lot of the DJ music and crowd talking? I just want to make sure the video recorded you can hear the people talking and making the video.

A: that's kind of a tough question. I love my NTg2 mic, it works much better than I thought using a windscreen and as well as being directional to block out some noise. If you are in a noisy environment why not double up on this along with a lab mic for best results?

Q: 10. Anyone used it at a podium in a live environment?

A: I have used this as a primary mic mounted on a stand in front of talent and it works very well. Just add phantom power or a AA battery and set your gain the same way you would on any mic.
