This battery performs better than the original canon battery that came with the camera, I'm using it in a powershot S300 with underwater housing, the canon battery's would have to be swapped out more often than this one, witch means going to the surface to make the swap, other after market batteries would be a little swollen and not slide in and out so easy, this is perfect 5
