Vienna Instruments - Appassionata Strings II from the Vienna Symphonic Library is a sample-based virtual instrument, that provides "passionate" string ensemble played in the "con sordino" style. The sounds are lush and cinematic in scope and perfectly integrate into a wide variety of musical styles.

From pop and rock to symphonic arrangements, emotional ballads to films, the four string sections offer various sustains and legato performances, with different intensities of vibrato. The virtual instrument also includes articulations such as accented interval notes, spiccatos, staccatos, various Repetition Performances, trills, and much more.

The Vienna Instruments user interface is clearly arranged and includes pre-configured patches for immediate playability with no learning curve. The interface uses a powerful proprietary streaming audio engine that can load up to 3,456 articulations (patches) on one MIDI channel.

Load times are extremely low and sixty-four stereo voices per instance can stream from the hard disc. A RAM optimizing utility clears unused samples out of RAM. Users can easily create their own instruments, using "drag and drop" functionality, and the instrument provides the ability for velocity crossfades and release control to be switched on or off in real time.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the camera accept timecode in and out as is? Or do you have to purchase the expansion pack with genlock?

A: Yes it does, it comes with a Timecode In/Out connection. The Expansion Pack adds sync/genlock, however it comes with a Timecode connection already.

Q: 2. 1) Is it possible to shoot 5952x3140 at either 50fps or 59.94fps in full frame? 2) Is it possible to shoot 4096x2160 in either 50fps or 59.94fps in full frame? 3) Is it possible to shoot 3840x2160 at 50fps or 59.94fps in full frame? I’m just trying to understand if there is a crop factor that gets applied if I shoot in 50fps or 59.94fps? Thank you.

A: According to Cinema5D, “Cinema RAW Light can be shot at 5.9K and 4K at up to 60 frames per second, and at 2K in up to 120 fps in a cropped mode, unfortunately. Once you switch to the XF-AVC codec in 10-bit 4:2:2, you can shoot 4K DCI, UHD, 2K and HD only, there’s no 5.9K option in this codec. (4K is delivered by 5.9K Oversample processing so no image crop applied). With XF-AVC you can also shoot up to 60 frames in 4K, and 120 frames in 2K and HD – but only cropped.”

Q: 3. What resolutions, frame rates, and codecs are supported in anamorphic shooting modes? Also, what is the sensor size it is sampling from in this mode?

A: According to Canon when shooting anamorphic the camera is still capturing a 17:9 or 16:9 aspect ratio (depending on the desired setting). The camera will output and display a “de-squeeze” for monitoring purposes. But, it always records a 17:9 or 16:9 aspect ratio (it doesn’t de-squeeze the recorded image). Like most other cameras, the user will have to de-squeeze the footage in post. But, again, you can monitor the image “de-squeezed” while recording. For FF anamorphic lens - FF mode (Cinema RAW Light, or XF-AVC 5.9K to 4K Oversampling) - S35 mode (crop) (Cinema RAW Light and XF-AVC) For S35 anamorphic Lens - S35 mode (crop) (Cinema RAW Light and XF-AVC)

Q: 4. What is included for $16,000? Screen? Arm? Viewfinder? Lens mount? Which lens mount?

A: The camera comes with a Canon EF mount. It includes the lcd monitor and the camera grip. It does not include the viewfinder. Q: 5. What is the native ISO?

A: The baseline or native ISO is believed to be 800 on this camera.

Q: 6. Does this charger also function as a voltage converter?

A: Not exactly. The charger itself is a multi-voltage unit, which means it is designed to work in any region, but simply needs the proper plug tip adapter applied to it. This particular unit is supplied with plug tip adapters for the following regions: US, UK, Europe, and Australia / New Zealand

Q: 7. Will there be an RF Mount kit option, adjusted for flange distance?

A: Not that we are aware of. An RF mount option has not been something announced by Canon for this camera.

Q: 8. What kind of output signal has the C500 Mark II ? Specifically if someone wants to record with an Atomos Recorder? (Is it 4:2:2, 4:4:4...)

A: According to Canon, it is a 4:2:2 10-bit signal during XF-AVC and Cinema RAW recording.

Q: 9. Can I use this Quantum flash off camera with a Pocket Wizard?

A: no, you cannot!

Q: 10. What's the highest frame rate ?

A: The highest frame rate would be 120p in 2K s16 crop. In 6k it would be 60.
