The DAC-25 25mm Mini Clamp from Desmond is a short 1" (25mm) aluminum Arca-type compatible clamp. A locking knob opens and closes the clamp to adjust or remove the plate. It has a 3/8"-16 threaded hole to mount the clamp onto a tripod, and also comes with a 1/4"-20 bushing adapter. Three slots on the clamp are available for attaching camera straps.

A: I would definitely recommend that you also purchase the Desmond DBAD Female to Male Boss Adapter, available from B and H, which is quite inexpensive. It has a ridge on one side which fits in the groove on the underside of the Desmond quick release clamp, and a ridge on the other side which fits in the groove on the Manfrotto ball head lever. The Boss Adapter keeps the quick release camp from turning, and holds it solidly in place. The Boss Adapter also comes with a hex key, and the proper length of hex screw to attach the Desmond QR clamp to the Manfrotto ballhead. I used this combination to convert a Manfrotto 494RC2 ballhead, and a 496RC2 ballhead, and everything works perfectly.
